Emirates flashpoint to be investigated
The Football Association are to investigate an incident that occurred during the second half of Arsenal's 3-2 win against Liverpool.
With the score locked at 2-2, referee Michael Oliver awarded the Londoners a penalty with 15 minutes remaining when Thiago was adjudged to have fouled Gabriel Jesus.
The decision prompted a heated exchange among several players including Jordan Henderson, Granit Xhaka and Gabriel.
Once tempers cooled, Oliver moved to the touchline to inform managers Mikel Arteta and Jurgen Klopp of something that was alleged to have been said during the melee.
An FA spokesperson said: "We are aware of an incident that took place during the match between Arsenal and Liverpool. We are in dialogue with the match officials and will review the details of the incident."
Bukayo Saka scored the resulting penalty, and league leaders Arsenal went on to take all three points at the Emirates.

Good morning Arsenal fans
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been filmed claiming Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta can’t handle “big characters and big players”.
Arteta stripped the striker of the Gunners’ captaincy last December and axed him before Aubameyang joined Barcelona and now Chelsea.
And the Gabon hero’s new comments could inflame Arteta’s allegation of a “catalogue of misdemeanors”.
Aubameyang is seen relaxing on a sofa as he tells another man about Arteta: “Big characters and big players…he can’t deal with it.
“He needs some young players who don’t say anything. They listen.”
Mikel Arteta’s call to play Japanese defender Tomiyasu at left-back was a masterstroke.
Not only did he nullify Salah, he gave Martinelli the freedom to concentrate on attacking Alexander-Arnold.
After the match, Arteta told the press on Tomiyasu’s peformance: “(It was) Very good. That’s what we hoped he would do and he did that.
“To think about doing that against Salah and actually doing it is a different story. Especially after playing on Thursday and what he’s been through in the past few weeks.”
Brazilian legend Gilberto Silva has said his bit on Arsenal’s 3-2 win over Liverpool.
He tweeted: “A fantastic 3 points today, Liverpool were a good test for our boys. There is something special about this team. What are your thoughts @Arsenal fans?
Sun columnist Piers Morgan has long been a critic of Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta.
However, it appears he’s now finally been won over.
In a hilarious message on Twitter, he’s penned the following: “Dear@m8arteta – I hereby formally declare trust in your process. You’ve built a thrilling team full of energy, pace, power, commitment and ferocious will-to-win. Love the way we play & our attitude. I had my doubts about you – but not any more. Keep pounding.”

Spy Klopp
Jurgen Klopp was keeping a watchful eye on Arsenal's warm-up.
The Liverpool manager stood in the centre circle facing Odegaard and Co to see what he's facing.
It's worth nothing, to be fair, Klopp does do this quite often. Still, funny.

Salibatipped to be new VVD
Former Tottenham defender Michael Dawson compared William Salbia to Virgil van Dijk and praised the centre-back’s start to the season.
He said on Sky Sports News’ Soccer Saturday: “Virgil is the best around, I think he’s magnificent.
“But what Saliba has done this year – he’s like a new signing.
“Yes, we never saw him in an Arsenal shirt before this season, but Mikel Arteta has given a young player an opportunity and hasn’t he grabbed it with both hands. Wow.
“He has to do it consistently for a lot of years to get to Virgil van Dijk’s level. He’s had the opportunity, doing it at a big football club, top of the league, winning seven games and only losing to Manchester United.”

Up front for Arteta and Klopp
As for the striker situation between Arsenal and Liverpool, it is chalk and cheese.
Both clubs spent big on a new No9 this summer – and so far there is only one winner.
Gabriel Jesus has five goals in eight games, is already a huge character in the team and is adored by Gooners – and will only cement that status if he adds to his four goals for Manchester City against Liverpool.
As for Darwin Nunez, his biggest contribution was thumping his forehead into Joachim Andersen with just one solitary goal to his name on his debut at Fulham two months ago.
