    Next Erling Haaland

Arsenal are in pole position to sign Atalanta star Rasmus Hojlund, who has been dubbed "the next Erling Haaland" this summer.

Hojlund, 20, has enjoyed an incredible international break with five goals in two matches for Denmark and has also registered 14 goals and five assists in 33 appearances with the Serie A giants.

According to Calciomercato, the Gunners are the frontrunners to sign the striker.

The same report claims that any potential deal will cost around £30m, which is double the fee Atalanta forked out for the Dane just a few months ago.

    Taking the Mik

Manchester United legend Gary Neville has hit back at Arsenal fans after they dug up a clip of him criticising manager Mikel Arteta.

Neville refused to back down from his comments made a year ago, reminding fans that they themselves wanted Arteta sacked.

An Arsenal fan page first said: “One year ago today, Gary Neville said that if Mikel Arteta finished fourth with Arsenal, he’d have to leave as he wouldn’t be able to achieve anything more.”

Neville replied: “One year ago you lot were asking for him to be sacked!!! Go and look at it!”

    Price Declan Rice

Arsenal hero Jack Wilshere urged his former team-mate and Gunners' boss Mikel Arteta to sign West Ham star Declan Rice.

The North Londoners' Under-18s manager told PA: "He’s a midfielder who can do anything. Anyone who supports any club would want Dec [Rice] to join.

"If I’m talking from a selfish point of view, in North London, I think he would be very good under Mikel’s watch. Mikel would develop him, bring him on even more and he would be massive for the team as well.

"I have had conversations with Dec and told him what he is doing in unbelievable, he is captain of a big Premier League club and is always learning.

"You have to be respectful to West Ham, that is his club, but his future is in his hands and it’s very exciting for him because he’s got everything with him now and he’s picking up more and more, he’s growing into this man who could play anywhere.

"I’m looking forward to wherever he goes. I hope it is Arsenal, it would be a massive signing and a perfect fit."

    Thomas Partey trains

Arsenal star Thomas Partey was involved in full training ahead of Saturday's clash with Leeds at the Emirates.

That is a major boost for the Gunners' manager Mikel Arteta, who needs all hands on deck as he makes a final push for the Premier League title.

The midfielder was left out of Ghana's Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Angola as a precaution due to a knock.

William Saliba and Eddie Nketiah were absent from training but Kieran Tierney was involved.

    Green sleeves for Arteta's Gunners

Arsenal could be decked out all in green next season.

That's after their third kit was reportedly leaked online.

The eye-catching display is certainly a bold choice from the Gunners.

But there's a danger they could become camouflaged with the grass on the pitch.

    Arsenal behind Conte's Spurs exit

Martin Keown reckons Arsenal's success this term was a major driving force behind Antonio Conte's Tottenham exit.

He told TalkSport: “The fact that Arsenal are 20 points clear of Spurs and this time last year they were both in the run-in for the top-four places puts Spurs under enormous pressure.

“But it's what happened in March. Going out of the FA Cup, what happened against AC Milan, the 3-3 game against Southampton… March was miserable for them.

“[Conte] knew he was going. He wanted to say, and needed to say, what was wrong at that football club and they need to take stock of that.”

    No vague interest in Veiga

Celta Vigo star Gabri Veiga is “dreaming about joining Arsenal” ahead of the summer transfer window.

According to Faro de Vigo, Napoli are “willing to activate” the playmaker's £35.2million release clause at the end of the campaign.

But it seems that the Spain Under-21 international has no desire to move to Italy – with the publication instead saying that he wants to “fulfil the dream of signing for Arsenal”.

The Gunners are allegedly the 20-year-old's “favourite” team and both he and his representatives like the club’s commitment towards youth and the sporting project being led by manager Mikel Arteta.

    Erik 'jealous' of flying Gunners

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has been accused of jealousy after bemoaning Arsenal’s luck with injuries.

Sutton told BettingSites: “That could well be a bit of sour grapes maybe from Ten Hag.

“I don’t think that you can say Arsenal have been lucky with injuries. The players have obviously been doing the right things and working hard.

“Ten Hag has done well but he’s probably jealous to be looking and seeing Arsenal just miles ahead of them at the minute.”

    Good morning Arsenal fans

Arsenal legend Arsene Wenger became the first ever manager to enter the Premier League Hall of Fame alongside Manchester United great Sir Alex Ferguson.

Wenger said: "I am very grateful to have been selected for the Premier League Hall of Fame.

"We always wanted to give something special to the fans and when you have players capable of remarkable things, the most important thing for me is the obligation of perfection.

"I’d like to be known as someone who loved Arsenal, who respected the values of the club and left it in a position where it can grow and become even bigger."

Meanwhile, Arsenal are scouting five strikers, including two England internationals and “the next Erling Haaland”, ahead of the summer transfer window.

According to the Evening Standard, Juventus star Dusan Vlahovic is back on manager Mikel Arteta’s transfer list.

Everton's Dominic Calvert-Lewin, and Roma’s Tammy Abraham both “fit the mould” of what Arteta is looking for at the Emirates.

Napoli superstar Victor Osimhen is there too, and the fifth is the man many are comparing to Manchester City talisman Haaland – and that is Atalanta's 6ft 3in ace Rasmus Hojlund.

And Arsenal are becoming more confident they will win the race to land West Ham star Declan Rice this summer.

Rice is also attracting interest from the Gunners' Premier League rivals Chelsea and United.

According to the Evening Standard the North Londoners are confident of winning the bidding war for the midfielder.

The 24-year-old is viewed as an ideal acquisition and fits Arteta’s recruitment model.

Finally, Celta Vigo star Gabri Veiga is “dreaming about joining Arsenal” ahead of the summer transfer window.

A host of other Premier League teams, such as United, City and Newcastle, are all interested in Veiga.

According to Faro de Vigo, Napoli are “willing to activate” the playmaker's £35.2million release clause at the end of the season.

But it seems that the Spain Under-21 international has no desire to move to the Serie A – with the publication instead saying that he wants to “fulfil the dream of signing for Arsenal”.

    Stoke the flames

Arsenal star Granit Xhaka almost joined Stoke on loan before eventually landing a lucrative gig at the Emirates.

Max Eberl, director of sport at Xhaka’s former club Borussia Monchengladbach, claims the midfielder was close to a Potters loan move after a disastrous start to life at the Bundesliga.

Eberl told the Rheinische Post in 2019: “Granit’s career in the first 18 months at Gladbach did not run [as smoothly] as sliced bread.

“He was almost ready to be loaned to Stoke and I told him, ‘If you go to Stoke now, you’ll never end up at a big club – but you could.'”

    Iwobi talks Arsenal exit

Everton ace Alex Iwobi has opened up on his exit from Arsenal in 2019.

Iwobi told The Beautiful Game Podcast: "Arsenal just signed a new winger [Nicolas Pepe] and there were a few players there who were not ready to go.

"So they said, 'We have received a bid for you, it's a high bid, we're not going to get this sort of money from anywhere else.'

"It was a nudge, it's a winger as well someone who is probably going to play in your position. It's up to you sort of thing.

"So I thought, 'Cool, they have given me that and Everton's a club that's a very big club that wants me'. I want a new challenge so why not pursue it."

Fresneda told Diario AS: "I’m proud but I always say it, I’m also at a big club, Valladolid.

    Wahi to go

The Armenian tactician said: "The kid, he’s 20, and full of talent. That costs a lot. For me, minimum €25-30m.

"When you see the TV rights over there, England can buy him. It’s easier for them."

    Iwobi on Nelson

Former Arsenal ace Alex Iwobi revealed how one of his former team-mates was a “joke” in training.

During an interview with The Beautiful Game podcast, Iwobi had plenty to say about pal Reiss Nelson.

Iwobi said: “He’s another Arsenal product, he’s another one who is a joke in training. With him like, he just has that raw ability.

“I have to give it to him because he’s had to be patient. But every time he’s come on to play, he’s delivered.

“I think he’s been the most impactful sub at Arsenal this season. For someone to be able to do that and not play regularly and still have that elite mindset, I have to rate it.”

    Wenger and Fergie friendship

Arsenal legend Arsene Wenger and Manchester United great Sir Alex Ferguson have revealed how they have put the past behind them and become good friends.

Wenger even compared him and his old foe to "two old boxers" reminiscing over "old battles".

The Frenchman said: “To share this with Sir Alex is a great honour for me.

"It’s like two boxers, you fight like mad and go the distance together.

"At the end of the day, you have respect and it will be a great opportunity to meet with him, share a good bottle of wine and memories of our old battles."

"They'll be doing stuff pre-training to make sure they're conditioned and ready to play. And then warming down correctly after games.

"That's not to say Manchester United players aren't doing the same things but in some seasons you get more injuries than other seasons.

"But you know, as a consequence of Arsenal having that continuity while they're doing so well. Ten Hag has done well but he’s probably jealous to be looking and seeing Arsenal just miles ahead of them at the minute.”

    Adams praises Saka

Arsenal legend Tony Adams claims Bukayo Saka is only second to Paris Saint-Germain superstar Lionel Messi.

Adams told The Sun: "If there’s a better player in world football at the moment, someone who both scores and makes goals, the only one I can think of is Lionel Messi.

"Bukayo is absolutely on fire and the reason Arsenal are top of the table.

"Erling Haaland might be scoring hundreds of goals for Manchester City and Marcus Rashford is also having a phenomenal season for [Manchester] United.

"But Bukayo is, hands down, the Footballer of the Year because he was England’s best player at the World Cup and he’s been the best player for the team eight points clear at the top of the Premier League."
