    No Gunners bid for Tielemans

Arsenal are yet to make an offer for long-term target Youri Tielemans.

Rumours suggested that the Gunners were going to follow up the signing of Oleksandr Zinchenko with a bid for the Belgian.

However, with the Leicester midfielder set for showdown talks with manager Brendan Rodgers this week, the Foxes chairman revealed there had been minimal interest.

Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha said: "There hasn't been anything concrete or any proposition yet."

    Morning, Arsenal fans

Arsenal are tipped to chase a right-winger to push their summer spree past £200million.

And it claims the spending – five players so far – shows the extreme faith placed in in manager Mikel Arteta by the Gunners' board.

Arsenal have lost out on widemen Serge Gnabry and Raphinha.

But with speculation that under-achieving wideman Nicolas Pepe could be sold, Arteta is still expected to bring in a new winger.

PSV Eindhoven's seven-cap Dutchman, 23, is rated the latest contender.

And it's also possible another central midfielder could come in.

Leicester’s Youri Tielemans and Juventus’ Arthur Melo remain top of the contenders in that department.

And Arsenal's interest in Lyon’s attacking midfielder Lucas Paqueta was boosted by the Ligue 1 giants admitting they want to prune their squad.

Arteta has already brought in Gabriel Jesus, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Fabio Vieira, Marquinhos and back-up keeper Matt Turner.

Bernd Leno’s move to Fulham is edging closer as the Gunners will accept £8m, compared to the original £15m asking price.

And Fenerbahce have reportedly agreed a loan deal for Arsenal centre-back Pablo Mari, with the option of a £4.2m permanent deal.

    Bernd price cut tempts Fulham

Bernd Leno’s move to Fulham is finally moving closer after Arsenal agreed to lower their asking price, report the Evening Standard.

The Gunners had held firm on their original valuation of £15m for weeks, but with no other parties seemingly interested in the German stopper, they are now willing to do business at £8m.

The transfer fee is likely to also include add-on fees if the 30-year-old’s stay at Craven Cottage proves to be a success.

Newly-promoted Fulham seemingly forced their London rival’s hand when it was revealed they were looking at alternative goalkeepers such as Neto and Sergio Rico.

How Arsenal might line up for opener

It’s just 11 days now until the new Premier League season begins with a Friday night London derby at Selhurst Park.

Arsenal head south to take on Crystal Palace and – following the Gunners’ 4-0 friendly thumping of Chelsea – we have our clearest idea yet of how Mikel Arteta will line his side up when facing the Eagles.

Against the Blues, Ben White began at right-back, allowing youngster William Saliba to partner Gabriel in central defence.

On the left of the forward line, Gabriel Martinelli got the nod over Emile Smith Rowe, while Martin Odegaard took the captain’s armband.

New signing Oleksandr Zinchenko featured at left-back, but expect him to move into midfield if Kieran Tierney is deemed fit enough to start; if the Scot misses out, Zinchenko will continue in defence with Granit Xhaka partnering Thomas Partey in midfield.

    Yannick hails Saliba pace

Yannick Bolasie has warned Prem attackers that William Saliba will be too quick for them.

Former Crystal Palace and Everton winger Bolasie spoke out as France centre-back Saliba, 21, shines in pre-season for the Gunners.

Saliba finally seems set for a first-team slot after loan spells with Saint-Etienne, Nice and Marseille.

And Bolasie, 33, who plays for Turks Çaykur Rizespor, posted: “Man think there running past Saliba… I don’t think so.”

Gunners' summer spending 'could pass £200m'

Arsenal's summer spending could pass £200million with a right-side midfielder tipped to their sixth signing.

That's the prediction of Sky Sports' Dharmesh Sheth, who says the spree shows the Gunners' strong backing for manager Mikel Arteta.

So far Gabriel Jesus, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Fabio Vieira, Marquinhos and Matt Turner have come in.

Sheth told GIVEMESPORT: “I think all of this business that Arsenal are doing, particularly last summer and this summer, just highlights how much they’re backing Mikel Arteta.

"He’s the long-term project for them. They’re backing him all the way.

“They didn’t have European football last season and yet they spent more than any club in Europe in the transfer window, in excess of £140 million.

“If they were to spend as much on a right-sided player that they were willing to spend on Raphinha, then you’re looking at a summer spend of close to £200 million.”

Victor eyes move to Prem giant

Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has reportedly alerted Chelsea and Spurs he’d consider a Prem move.

The Nigeria hero, 23, was linked with Arsenal and Manchester United before moving from Lille to Serie A in 2020.

The 22-cap star has since hit 24 goals in 51 Italian top-flight matches.

    Automatic bans for pitch invaders

Pitch invaders face automatic bans under a massive fan behaviour crackdown for the new season, writes MARTIN LIPTON.

The FA, Prem and EFL have united to bring in tough new sanctions in the wake of the incidents that marred the end of last term.

Under the new regulations, agreed by the three bodies, fans who release smoke bombs or pyrotechnics also face being banned from attending future matches, while parents face being held responsible for the actions of their children.

And there will be an enhanced use of sniffer dogs in an attempt to root out cocaine use by supporters.

In a joint statement, the three organisations said: “These acts are dangerous, illegal and have severe consequences. They have no place in football, or anywhere. The safety of everyone attending a matchday is the game’s collective priority.

“We know the behaviours carried out by some fans last season do not represent the majority of supporters and they risk ruining the fantastic experience of a football match for everyone.

“Therefore, we are working with clubs to highlight the important role that fans, clubs, players and coaches all have to play in helping to create a safe environment.

”Prosecution in these cases will become the default response of the football authorities and criminal justice system, sending a clear and unambiguous message to all who break the law.”

    Arsenal boosted over Lucas

Arsenal's hopes of landing Lyon's attacking midfielder Lucas Paqueta were boosted today.

Get French Football News say the Ligue 1 club's head of recruitment Bruno Cheyrou revealed Lyon hope to reduce their squad size.

And when the former Liverpool man was asked directly about Paqueta’s future at the Parc Olympique Lyonnais amid Arsenal’s interest, he didn’t sound confident of keeping the playmaker.

“We are prepared for every eventuality,” Cheyrou told reporters.

Passport issue ‘stopped Real signing Jesus’

Red tape was the only thing that stopped Real Madrid making a serious bid for Gabriel Jesus, according to reports.

An issue relating to the Brazil striker’s passport was the stumbling block, says Spanish radio station Cadena SER.

Speaking on the Sanhedrin of El Larguero podcast, journalist Javier Herraez said Arsenal’s new recruit was viewed as ideal cover for Karim Benzema by Los Blancos.

He explained: “Benzema is the best, but this is a World Cup year where he is going to play with the French team.

“That is going to be important, and he cannot play in everything.

“Gabriel Jesus is who Madrid wanted in this moment because he knew how to be a substitute, and he played and scored goals.

“Madrid has looked for him and has not found him. This footballer is not in Madrid because of the matter of his passport.

“If not, he would be because Ancelotti wanted him, as did the club. But there is no room because of the issue of the papers.”

    Chelsea eye ex-Arsenal target Skriniar

With Barcelona closing on prime Chelsea target Jules Kounde, speculation is mounting tonight that Stamford Bridge boss Thomas Tuchel could reignite interest in Inter Milan centre-back Milan Skriniar.

But the Italian giants are keen to keep the Slovakia star.

And it's thought only a bid beyond £60million would tempt Inter to even consider selling the 27-year-old.

Arsenal and Manchester United have previously been linked with ex-Sampdoria hero Skriniar.

Edu wants Gunners to be great again

Arsenal technical director Edu is a man on a mission to restore the club to greatness.

The former Invincible, now in charge of overseeing transfers at the Emirates, is intent on building a squad to challenge for the top honours.

In an extraordinarily frank SunSport interview, the Brazilian insisted: “Arsenal should not be building to just fight for fourth. A club of our size cannot accept that.

“That’s what really hurt when I returned three years ago. I was asking, ‘What’s happening here? Everybody is comfortable and they’re all OK with that?’

“Well, f*** you, because that’s not the mentality of this club. I want everyone to feel, ‘F***ing hell, now we are really going to go for things’.

    Pepe insists he's staying

Nicolas Pepe appears to have committed his future to Arsenal.

The £72million winger has been linked with a move away from the Emirates this summer, with the Gunners themselves willing to let him leave.

But there has been a lack of interest in the club record signing.

Pepe is attracting interest from Newcastle, according to 90min, but as of yet a move has failed to materialise.

And now Pepe himself has revealed he is "determined" to continue with the Gunners.

The Ivory Coast international has vowed he has worked hard on his game over the summer break having netted just three goals in all competitions last season.

Pepe posted a picture to his Instagram account of himself in pre-season action.

The winger captioned the upload: "I worked hard during the summer. Change lot of things. Im focus and determined with @arsenal and my teammates."

Lacazette screamer has Gunners fans moaning

Alexandre Lacazette has wound up Arsenal fans by reminding them of his talent in front of goal.

The striker, 31, was released this summer after five years at The Emirates.

Mikel Arteta decided not to keep him on following a return of just one goal in his last 19 games – but it has not taken the Frenchman long to remind Arsenal what they're missing out on at his new club Lyon.

In a friendly against Feyenoord on Sunday the striker picked up the ball around 30 yards from goal and took a couple of touches before firing the ball into the bottom corner.

Naturally, several Gooners were amazed by Lacazette's effort, and it led some to question why he could not perform in the same way for Arsenal.

One fan wrote on Twitter: "So predictable he would leave and learn how to shoot again. Another added: "Don’t say it. Don’t say it. Don’t say it. Don’t say it… why couldn’t he do that for the Arsenal?"

And a third said: "Seriously what happened to Lacazette at Arsenal, [he] just completely lost his ability to shoot."

    Sanchez 'ponders Marseille move'

Ex-Arsenal and Manchester United striker Alexis Sanchez is reportedly weighing up a move to French giants Marseille.

Inter Milan are keen to offload the 33-year-old.

And joining Marseille would allow Sanchez to continue playing in the Champions League.

He is seriously considering a move to France, according to Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

Sanchez's sky-high wages are proving to be a problem for Inter.

He is rumoured to be on around £100k-a-week on his current contract, and is refusing to accept a wage cut.

Sanchez's current deal expires at the end of the upcoming season. But staying at Inter would likely mean barely featuring for Simone Inzaghi's side.

    Balogun lined up by Reims

Reims reportedly want Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun – after losing Hugo Ekitike to PSG for £30million.

Balogun is currently Arsenal’s third-choice striker behind Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah.

But the Gunners are under no pressure to sell, with the ace’s deal running until 2025.

Mikel wants improvement… after beating Chelsea 4-0

Mikel Arteta has warned his Arsenal players not to be over-confident by their perfect pre-season.

The 4-0 thrashing of Chelsea early on Sunday morning ended the Gunners’ US tour on a high and made it four wins from four this summer.

Yet the Spanish coach said afterwards: “There were a lot of positives in the way we played but it was a friendly match. It was a test.

“There are still a lot of things we have to do better, so don’t get carried away.”

Arsenal kick-off the new Premier League season with an away trip to Crystal Palace in 11 days.

    Atalanta eye Tavares

Arsenal full-back Nuno Tavares is reportedly wanted by Atalanta and Brighton.

The 22-year-old is facing an uncertain future at the Emirates after displaying defensive frailties in his first season at the club.

And Bergamo-based Atalanta want a loan deal for the young Portuguese defender.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano claims that the Serie A side are leading the chase for his services next season.

Brighton have also inquired on what terms the Gunners' hierarchy would want for a move to take place.

The Seagulls may see Tavares as a replacement for Man City-bound Marc Cucurella at left-back.

Reports state that Arsenal bosses have discussed sending Tavares out on loan to aid his development.

Mikel Arteta is said to be open to letting the youngster seek valuable first team experience. It's claimed Marseille were working on a deal but Romano now claims this is wide of the mark.

    Paq a Gunn

Arsenal have finally admitted that they are interested in Lyon star Luis Paqueta – but haven’t yet made a move for the flamboyant midfielder.

The Times reports that Gunners technical director Edu would like to bring his compatriot to the Emirates.

The North London club already have four Brazilians in their ranks, having added Gabriel Jesus and Marquinhos this summer to a squad that included Gabriel and Gabriel Martinelli.

And Arsenal hope that South American core will help tempt Paqueta to them when the time comes.

The 24-year-old has also been linked with Newcastle, where his friend Bruno Guimaraes – who notoriously rejected the Gunners in January – currently plays.
