Declan Rice partnership
Arsenal want West Ham superstar Declan Rice and Southampton ace Romeo Lavia to form a dream midfield pairing.
Saints value Lavia, 19, at £45million but the Gunners now see him as a better option than Brighton star Moises Caicedo.
The North Londoners could face competition from Manchester City for the Belgium international, who included a buyback in last summer’s £10.5million move to St Mary's.
Arsenal remain locked in talks over Rice as Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey are linked with moves away.

Kai Havertz blow
Bayern Munich are looking to hijack Arsenal’s bid for Chelsea star Kai Havertz.
Despite Havertz looking “very close" to a move to the Emirates, a potential spanner has been thrown in the works.
According to the Daily Mail, Bayern “have expressed late interest” in signing the versatile forward.
However, the Blues have slapped a £70million price tag on the Germany international who moved to Stamford Bridge three years ago for around £62m.
Arsenal want to pay a lot less, and they hoped the fact that Real Madrid are not willing to pay over £50m will help them secure Havertz for a reduced fee.

P-Rice is wrong
Erik ten Hag is angry that his plans to sign Declan Rice are being foiled by Manchester United’s takeover saga.
The Red Devils boss feels West Ham skipper Rice would be a perfect addition and has been desperate to make an offer.
But United’s protracted takeover drama has let Arsenal move into pole position for the England ace, 24.
Ten Hag’s spending is restricted while the Glazers decide whether to sell or stay put — particularly as United are yet to offload any of the expensive dead wood in their squad.
Qatari Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani is edging closer to winning the takeover battle.
But Prem chiefs would still have to complete the Owners’ and Directors’ Test which takes around ten days — meaning Ten Hag’s hands may be tied for at least another two weeks.

Arsenal transfer strategy unveiled
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has lifted the lid on Arsenal's transfer strategy.
“For Arsenal, it is always important in the line of strategy. They go for the player if they are 100% convinced. Otherwise, they prefer to wait,” he told GIVEMESPORT.
“Look at Raphinha, for example. Last summer, they wanted Raphinha but had no chance to agree on a fee for him.
“So, they decided to wait until January to sign any winger in Trossard. So, this is why, for Arsenal, it’s important to find the right player in the right position.”

Henry rates Havertz
Thierry Henry has delivered his opinion on Arsenal target Kai Havertz – comparing the German to Robin Van Persie.
“He reminds me sometimes a little of Robin – back to goal, the way he can hold the ball,” Henry told CBS Sports.
“Robin van Persie was very good with his left foot, the touch was always immaculate and he tried to bring people along.
“This is why out of the guys that used to be wingers or No.10 he plays as a nine because with his back to goal he can hold the ball well. Now he needs to make sure he can transform that into more goals because you can play off him.”

Kane wanted to be GK
In a desperate attempt for his son not to be released by Arsenal, Pat Kane, Harry's father, said that the future Tottenham star would switch to becoming a goalkeeper.
Ex-Arsenal academy chief Roy Massey said: "Next thing, Harry’s dad came back in and told me he now wants to be a goalkeeper.
"And I thought the least I could do was to send him to work with our keeper coach Alex Welch.
"Alex was one of the best in the business and after just a few sessions he told me ‘Roy, the lad is never going to make the grade in goal’, so this time Harry had to move on.
"I know how much it hurt him."

Spur of the moment
Spurs star Harry Kane was released by Arsenal aged 12.
Roy Massey was the Gunners' academy manager at the time and made the decision to let the future England captain go.
He has admitted in an interview with talkSPORT that he did not believe Kane was good enough to make it as a player.
Massey explained: "To release Harry Kane… we don’t have a crystal ball.
"If we did then we would be successful in every youngster than we take on.
“Harry was a lovely young player. He was quiet, shy, didn’t have what we thought it would take to become a professional footballer and so we were totally mistaken.
“Although I’ve got to say that when Harry was released when he was 11 or 12 years of age, he did go to play for his Sunday league club for the next three years so no other club’s picked him up in that age group.
“It was only when he was 15 he went to Tottenham and obviously he’s had great success.”
