Arsenal vs RC Lens team news

Lens are set to be without the likes of Wuilker Fairnez, Jimmy Cabot, David Costa and Massadio Haidara.

But Arteta is hoping winger Gabriel Martinelli could return to the Gunners squad on Tuesday after missing the last four games due to injury.

Bukayo Saka limped off in Arsenal's 4-0 win away at Bournemouth on the weekend.

Arteta has eased fears over the extent of the damage and revealed he has travelled, but the England star may not be risked for the trip to France with the Gunners playing title rivals Manchester City on Sunday.

Thomas Partey has returned to training this week and could feature against Lens.

Ex-Arsenal star now one of 'best keepers' in Europe

Juventus boss Max Allegri has hailed former Arsenal star Wojciech Szczesny as one of the “best goalkeepers in Europe.”

The 33-year-old stopper, who had an on-pitch heart scare this year, swapped London for Turin in 2017 after an 11-year stint.

And Allegri reckons there are no question marks over his class, labelling him one of world football’s top stoppers.

He said: “I’ve no doubts, Szczesny is one of the best goalkeepers in Europe. He’s among the very best.”

    Gunners star on travel delay

Arsenal stars were left stranded at Luton Airport for more than four hours last night due to the storms that hit the south of England.

On the travel chaos, William Saliba said: "I don’t know what’s happening. Maybe because it’s raining in England or France so we cannot fly and we are still in London.

“First of all we have to get to Lens but I’m confident the delay won’t affect us and we will give our best in the game.

“We know it won’t be an easy game. Lens are a really good team who finished second in the French League last season.

“They didn’t start this season well but they have improved in their last few games so we have to be fully focused."
