Barcelona reveal Ousmane Dembele's release clause after winger signs new contract.. and it's LESS than they paid for him | The Sun

BARCELONA have revealed Ousmane Dembele's new release clause following his two-year contract extension on Thursday – but it's less than what they paid Borussia Dortmund for him.

The Frenchman looked set to depart the Camp Nou this summer with a number of interested clubs tracking his contract situation.

Dembele was heavily linked with a free transfer to Chelsea, which would've seen him reunite with Thomas Tuchel, who managed him at Dortmund.

However, the winger performed a U-turn and signed new terms on Thursday, accepting a 40 per cent wage reduction.

It has also been revealed by Barca’s sporting director, Mateu Alemany, that Dembele will have an £85million release clause.

Dembele's new release clause is £41m less than what Barca paid Dortmund back in 2017.
