Betfair punter lands odds of 1668/1 to collect £10,690 thanks to THREE stoppage-time goals | The Sun

LATE winners don't come around too often.

Unless you're this lucky punter who had THREE stoppage-time winners in just over 24 hours to land a cool £10,690 from a modest £10 stake!

The Betfair customer studied the fixtures and put together an 11-fold football accumulator at gargantuan odds of 1668/1.

The punter selected matches from across Europe over Saturday and Sunday including England, France, Spain, Switzerland, Italy, Portugal and Belgium.

But they didn't just pick teams to win. This shrewd bettor also made the most of the over/under goal markets and both teams to score (BTTS).

And it's actually quite remarkable how events unfolded.

BTTS was completed inside 11 minutes in the Salernitana vs Bologna match, and it took 37 minutes for both teams to score between Sion and Grasshoppers Zurich.

Simple enough.

Oostende then struck an 81st-minute equaliser shortly before Espanyol managed to claim an 86th-minute consolation goal against Celta Vigo.

The final BTTS was in the bag thanks to two second-half strikes in the space of 20 minutes between Arouca and Pacos Ferreira over in Portugal.

But there were two big problems.

Lille entered the 100th-minute of the match at 1-0 with our punter still needing one more goal, and FC Zurich trailed 1-0.

Step forward Mohamed Bayo, who struck in the 11th-minute of stoppage time for Lille, before Zurich turned things around in style in Switzerland.

Eight down, three to go heading into Sunday.

It looked as if though the overnight wait wouldn't have been worth it with Sheffield United trailing Blackburn in the FA Cup with ten minutes left on the clock.

But Blades striker Oli McBurnie pulled one back before Tommy Doyle struck a 91st-minute pile driver to give Sheffield United an unlikely 3-2 win.

Real Betis held on to a slender 1-0 victory, as did Juventus against Inter Milan at the San Siro at the biggest odds on the accumulator.

Cashing out must have been tempting with Barcelona and Real Madrid tied at 1-1 in El Clasico.

And this punter must have been devastated when Marco Asensio struck in the 81st-minute to sink the bet.

But VAR came to the rescue to rule the goal out for offside before unlikely hero Franck Kessie scored the winner in the 92nd-minute at the Nou Camp.

Scenes, absolute scenes.
