Wayne Rooney’s Birmingham City will take on Jamie Vardy’s Leicester City on December 18, with Sky Sports picking the game for broadcast after the pair’s partners famous ‘Wagatha Christie’ case.
It will be the first time the former England teammates face-off since the public falling out of their wives Coleen Rooney and Rebekah Vardy.
‘Wagatha Christie’ became the tongue-in-cheek name for their feud, after some impressive detective work from Coleen revealed that Rebekah had been leaking Instagram stories to the media.
In 2019 Coleen released a statement admitting she has been planting false Instagram stories on her private page and blocking all her other friends to prove that Rebekah was the guilty party.
She admitted that stories about her basement flooding, gender selection and so on were only viewed by Rebekah and these were subsequently followed by outlets.

Rebekah would then hit back at the star and insisted the claims were false, before a May 2022 libel case ended in Coleen’s favour after a nine-day trials.
However since then the tensions seemingly haven’t lessened between the two couples as they continue to take swipes at each other.
While there is set to be plenty of attention cast in the direction of the stands during December’s clash, it will see two former team-mates clash on the pitch.
Vardy suffered relegation at Leicester last term, but Enzo Maresca’s side have been making lightweight of their attempt to return immediately to the Premier League.
The Foxes are at the top of the Championship with 30 points from 11 games, losing just once and winning all the other 10, ahead of Ed Sheeran’s beloved Ipswich Town by two points.
For the Blues it is a period of transition despite the early stage of the season, with popular manager John Eustace sacked to precipitate the arrival of Rooney at the helm.
The Manchester United record goal scorer left DC United for the Championship, and inherits a side sat sixth in the league.
Under Eustace, Birmingham City won five drew three and lost three of their opening 11 fixtures, but two points off Preston North End in third place.
