Boca Juniors stars Benedetto and Zambrano given two-match bans after dressing room brawl with EACH OTHER | The Sun

BOCA JUNIORS Dario Benedetto and Carlos Zambrano have been banned for two matches after the team-mates' astonishing scrap.

Incredibly, the warring pair even had to be separated by police after fighting at half-time.

Argentine journalist Diego Montalvan revealed on Twitter that Zambrano said: “It was a slap, I didn't expect it. Our team-mates grabbed us right away. Then Benedetto apologized to me. I remained calm."

Regarding the punishment, he added: “I don’t agree. It’s not fair. I didn’t do anything”.

The Premier League saw its own handbags when Antonio Conte and Thomas Tuchel squared up in the Battle of Bridge II.

Zambrano's flare-up came as tempers boiled over during Boca's 0-0 draw with Racing Club in the Argentina Primera Division.

The scrap was sparked by striker Benedetto telling the defence to "do better" but furious Zambrano hit back by saying "score goals."

Zambrano then came out for the second half with red marks on his face and a swollen eye.

Benedetto also had a scrape on his neck.

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel and Spurs boss Antonio Conte have also been handed touchline bans after an explosive London derby.
