Bookies terrified of Harry Redknapp on Grand National day with BOTH his horses being backed off the boards by punters | The Sun

HARRY Redknapp is looking for another big day on Merseryside and his two runners on Grand National day have been smashed.

The aptly-named Shakem Up'Arry is vying for favouritism in the William Hill Handicap Chase and his National runner Back On The Lash has been well-supported all week.

Back On The Lash goes in the big one and having been available at 66/1 earlier this week, he is now 20/1 in places.

Trainer Martin Keighley is adamant that soft ground was the cause of his poor run in Cheltenham's Cross Country and the bookies are fearing a disaster result should he win.

Paddy Power's Paul Binfield said: "Back On The Lash is our biggest loser.

"Punters seem to be agreeing with trainer Martin Keighley that former Pompey, West Ham and Spurs gaffer Harry Redknapp's charge wasn't suited by the soft ground at Cheltenham in the Cross Country.

"The faster ground at Aintree, with the sun shining down on a packed crowd, will be much more up his alley."

Back On The Lash roared home to win the Cross Country Chase at Cheltenham in January and has already won his owners £99,148 in prize money.

Should he cross the line first in today's world-famous steeplechase, he would pocket a further £500,000.

There has also been plenty of cash for Redknapp's namesake Shakem Up'Arry, who was last seen finishing third at the Cheltenham Festival in the Plate Handicap.
