Che Adams transfer news odds: Leeds lead the race ahead of Man Utd, Chelsea and Newcastle, Southampton reveal valuation | The Sun

LEEDS are in pole position to snap up Southampton striker Che Adams in this window.

That's according to Betfair, who price the Elland Road side as 6/4 favourites to sign Adams this summer.

Leeds top the betting market ahead of Manchester United, Chelsea and Newcastle – all reported to be in the market for a new striker.

Adams sat out the opening day defeat at Tottenham before playing the full 90 minutes as Saints battled back to draw with Leeds.

Adams has 21 goals in 111 Southampton appearances since joining from Birmingham.

The exciting addition of forward Sékou Mara at St Mary's – a £12million signing from Bordeaux – could mean his appearances aren't as often as he would like.

His hold-up play saw him land a Scotland call-up ahead of last year's Euros and he is now a big part of Steve Clarke's squad.

Leeds have been in for Adams before and had a loan bid rejected back in January 2020.

Leeds are desperately hunting for a striker, after losing out on Charles De Ketelaere.

They also suffered a major setback as former target Arnaud Kalimuendo joined Rennes from PSG last week.

They could look to turn their attentions to 26-year-old Adams, who has two years left on his contract.

He has a reported £20million price tag attached to him.

Man Utd are next in the betting at 8/1 as their transfer woes continue.

Erik ten Hag couldn't have imagined a worse start to the Premier League campaign with defeats to Brighton and Brentford and desperately needs reinforcements all over the pitch.

Cristiano Ronaldo is still eyeing a move away but United have nobody currently fit to play the leading role.

Chelsea don't have a recognised striker at present either and are 10/1 with Betfair to sign Adams.

Kai Havertz is playing the striker role at the minute after Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner left the club this month.

Newcastle have Callum Wilson leading the line but are also 10/1 to make their move for Adams.

The only other clubs given a price are two of his former sides.

Moves to Birmingham City and Sheffield United seem unlikely at present but they are 16/1 and 25/1, respectively.
