Chelsea fans ask 'will we ever catch a break?' as star is forced to withdraw from international squad with injury | The Sun

CHELSEA fans have been left asking "will we ever catch a break?" after their latest injury woe.

Mauricio Pochettino has had to deal with numerous player absences this season.

Things have gotten a little better of late, with captain Reece James having returned to action.

There is also hope that summer signings Romeo Lavia and Christopher Nkunku could finally debut after the international break.

In a fresh blow, however, Malo Gusto has pulled out of the France Under-21s squad with an injury.

French outlet L'Equipe claim that the full-back is suffering with a ligament issue in his right knee.

Gusto, 20, came on for James in the 64th minute of Sunday's 4-4 draw with Manchester City at Stamford Bridge.

He finished the game without appearing to be in physical discomfort.

But an injury detected since has ruled him out of international action.

France Under-21s are managed by Thierry Henry and are set to face Austria later this week.

Reacting to news of Gusto's injury, one Chelsea fan asked on social media: "Would we ever catch a break?"

While a second wrote: "Hope he would be fit and ready after the international break cuz we need him and james to be very fit cuz its about to be a good season for us."

A third posted: "Wish him quick recovery."

And another moaned: "Injuries again."

The Blues face a tricky trip to Newcastle on November 25.

Chelsea signed Gusto from Lyon in a £31million January deal, before loaning him back to the French side until the end of last season.

He has made nine Premier League appearances for the Blues so far this term, often having to deputise for James.
