Chelsea set for biggest transfer window EVER as Boehly spends £195m and still wants De Jong, Fofana and Gordon | The Sun

CHELSEA are set to smash the record for the biggest spend in a single transfer window this summer.

New owner Todd Boehly has made his mark on the club and although there have been setbacks, the Blues have already signed five players.

And Chelsea are close to adding a sixth in Inter Milan star Cesare Casadei after agreeing a £17million deal, which would take the club's overall outlay to £195m.

The spending does not appear to be stopping any time soon with Thomas Tuchel keen to add another centre-back to his squad in Wesley Fofana, while Frenkie de Jong and Anthony Gordon could also complete transfers.

If that trio joins then Chelsea's transfer outlay could increase to £392m – smashing Real Madrid's summer 2019 record of £270m.

Here SunSport breaks down exactly where Boehly's millions have been spent.

He has yet to score for the Blues in his two appearances.

Kalidou Koulibaly – £34m

Koulibaly, 31, arrived from Napoli to replace the much-loved Antonio Rudiger following his free transfer to Real Madrid.

The centre-back has hit the ground running with a clean sheet in his first game at Everton followed by a thunderous volley in the London derby against Tottenham.

Marc Cucurella – £62m

The former Brighton defender is Chelsea's most expensive signing so far after the Blues fought off interest from Manchester City to land the 24-year-old.

Tuchel praised his hunger and intelligence upon his arrival and the Chelsea boss is a big fan of Cucurella's versatility, with the Spaniard able to play at full-back and in central defence.

Carney Chukwuemeka – £20m

The 18-year-old was highly rated by Aston Villa and Chelsea beat the likes of AC Milan and Barcelona to his signature.

Penning a six-year deal, Chukwuemeka is certainly one for the future and has yet to be featured in a first-team matchday squad, thoughhe has made one appearance in Premier League Two for Chelsea.

Gabriel Slonina – £12m

The American goalkeeper, 18, penned a six-year contract after Chelsea had a £12m offer accepted by Chicago Fire, where he has returned on a season-long loan.

Slonina signed his first pro contract with Chicago aged 14 and became the MLS' youngest-ever goalie after making his debut at the age of 17 a year ago.

Cesare Casadei – £17m

The midfielder is set to become the latest addition in West London with the Blues finally agreeing a fee with Inter after seeing two bids knocked back.

The highly-rated teenager, 19, is expected to leave for England on Wednesday and then undergo a medical the next day.

Casadei is considered the jewel of the Nerazzurri's youth side and like Chukwuemeka, he could join up with Chelsea under-23's.

More to come

With only Sterling, Koulibaly and Cucurella making an impact on the first-team so far, Tuchel is keen to add to his squad further.

Fofana is a long-term target while De Jong is reportedly a priority for Tuchel as he looks to reshape his midfield.

Everton's Gordon is another young player who would offer another option in attack, while Chelsea also want Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to fill the striker void left by Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner.

Wesley Fofana – £85m

Leicester have rejected two bids from Chelsea for the Nigerian, 21, with the last believed to be worth £70m.

Fofana has reportedly made a plea to leave but the Foxes are holding out for £85m and are adamant they do not need to sell despite failing to make a signing this summer.

Chelsea are not willing to match Fofana's asking price, leaving the defender in limbo with two weeks remaining in the window.

Frenkie de Jong – £68m

Chelsea are looking to snatch De Jong, 25, away from Manchester United but want to pay less than the £72m fee United agreed with Barcelona.

The club is prepared to wait for Barca to reduce their asking price – but the Dutchman is keen to stay at the Nou Camp.

That’s despite Barcelona telling the Dutchman he must accept a 50 per cent pay cut while still being owed £14m in deferred wages.

Anthony Gordon – £45m

Chelsea have been dealt several setbacks in their pursuit of young Everton star Gordon, 21.

The Blues have had two offers worth £40m and £45m knocked back with the Toffees valuing the winger at £50m.

Newcastle and Tottenham have also shown interest in Gordon who has also been in talks with Everton over a new contract.
