Chelsea star Reece James suffers ANOTHER injury setback as he pulls out of England squad in major blow to Potter | The Sun

CHELSEA star Reece James has suffered another injury setback.

James left the England camp and returned to his club "for assessment on an ongoing issue", according to the FA.

An FA statement read: "Reece James has withdrawn from the England squad and will not feature against Ukraine on Sunday."

The Blues defender came on for the final few minutes of the Three Lions’ historic win against Italy on Thursday night.

But the 23-year-old is having a luckless campaign so far, having missed more than half of Chelsea’s Premier League games.

A knee problem kept James out from October to Christmas.

That particular injury meant he missed what would have been his first World Cup.

He came back on December 27 against Bournemouth, only to be forced off after 53 minutes with a recurrence of the same injury.

James returned again in February, but a hamstring issue and illness ruled him out for another two games this month.

He has been restricted to just 18 games in all competitions for Chelsea this season.
