Chelsea 'to make £43m Matheus Nunes bid', Boehly wants Cristiano Ronaldo EXCLUSIVE, De Ligt latest – transfer news LIVE | The Sun

CHELSEA are reportedly set to make a £43million bid for Sporting Lisbon midfielder Matheus Nunes.

A Bola in Portugal claim that Thomas Tuchel’s team are willing to pay £38.5m up front for the eight-capped Portugal international.

And SunSport can exclusively reveal that new owner Todd Boehly is a huge fan of Cristiano Ronaldo which could see the Blues sign the Portuguese icon instead.

Tuchel also wants Mattijs de Ligt from Juventus, but the Old Lady's asking price of £60 million could scupper the move giving the Blues a slim chance of snatching him.

    Broja misses pre-season training

Chelsea are reportedly set to leave in-demand Armando Broja behind from their pre-season tour with the star set for talks with new owner Todd Boehly.

Now the Albanian star is hoping to push on his career – but it may not be back at Chelsea.

West Ham, Everton and Newcastle are all keen on signing him.

Now Ora News in his home country is claiming that the player’s representatives have told Stamford Bridge chiefs that he “must be part of pre-season” otherwise he will leave.

But Blues boss Thomas Tuchel, despite being a fan of the attacker, believes it would be best for him to remain training in London rather than head out to the USA with the rest of his senior squad this month.

    Not De Ligt price

There's no way Chelsea or Man City will pay over £100m for Juventus star Matthijs de Light, according to Steve McManaman.

Juve are hold out for £103m for the defender who's aroused interest from Chelsea and City.

But neither side will splash the astronimical sum on De Ligt based on the form he's been in recently, although he's a good, young player, McManaman thinks.

He told Horseracing.net: "So I think you’d definitely take a chance on De Ligt – but there’s no way you would pay a record £103m for him! Not from what we’ve seen over the last couple of years. If anything, he should be wanting to prove that he’s that good.

“But a 22-year-old central defender who’s got loads of talent – they don’t come around that often. They’re hard to buy as there’s not many around.”

    Barcelona ‘face registration ban’

Barcelona are reportedly unable to register new signings Andreas Christensen and Franck Kessie due to financial fair play restrictions.

Both players have been announced as Barca players after agreeing free transfers.

But Barcelona are suspended from registering the pair as new players until they balance the books, according to Cope.

The Spanish giants have been in financial difficulty for the past two years despite offloading high earners such as Lionel Messi and Antoine Griezmann.

Last week Barca agreed a £178million deal with US private equity group Sixth Street to sell a 10 per cent stake in their La Liga TV rights for the next 25 years.

But those funds are reportedly unable to go towards new players and must instead be used to balance the books.

That's according to the Italy international's agent Joao Santos.

There's been speculation surrounding the midfielder's future in recent times.

But Santos ruled out a possible move away from Stamford Bridge for his client, saying: “His contract will expire in 2023, I think we will talk about the renewal from September. Chelsea are the priority.”

    Chelsea bid for Sporting midfielder

Chelsea have made a transfer bid for Sporting ace Matheus Nunes, according to reports.

The Blues have been focused on trying to repair their decimated defence in this summer's transfer window.

But while they wrangle over the price of Matthijs De Ligt and Jules Kounde, the Blues have put forward a bid of £42.8m for Nunes.

That's according to A Bola who claim Chelsea hope an initial bid of £38.6m, plus £4.2m in add-ons will be enough to entice Sporting into letting him leave.

    Doubts cast over Ronaldo transfer

Cristiano Ronaldo may not get minutes he wants on the pitch with potential suitors Chelsea, Lee Sharpe believes.

He told bettors.ng: "I’m not sure. If he goes to Chelsea, I don’t think he’ll play every game.

"I’m not sure he’ll be too happy about that. We saw the disappointment last season where he was brought off last season as a substitute.

“If that’s his only option and he fancies a year or two in London, then who knows. But I would say that he is keeping his options open at the moment to find out what’s on the table.”

    Neymar set for PSG stay

Chelsea's hopes of signing Neymar have been dealt a blow as new PSG boss Christophe Galtier is keen to keep the Brazilian.

An exit looked to be on the cards following comments from PSG owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi, who spoke about moving away from the "flashy, bling-bling" model.

But Galtier is a huge fan of Neymar and he intends to keep the 30-year-old.

In his first press conference as PSG boss Galtier said: "He’s one of the best in the world.

"What coach wouldn’t want to have him? I’ve a very clear idea of what I’ll expect from him.

"Of course I want him to stay."

    De Ligt 'wants Bayern transfer'

Chelsea target Matthijs de Ligt allegedly has his heart set on joining Bayern Munich – but Juventus’ asking price could scupper the move.

The Dutch defender, 22, has been heavily linked with a Turin exit this summer after admitting he may reject a new contract offer.

That is according to Bild’s Christian Falk, who claims that De Ligt wants to sign for the Bundesliga giants but the club may not be able to afford him.

He tweeted: “Matthijs de Ligt told @juventusfc that he wants a transfer to @FCBayern. Juve and Bayern are now in contact. But: Bayern won‘t pay the requested amount of €70m.”

He added: “@FCBayern know that @ChelseaFC is also interested in Matthijs de Ligt and Chelsea can offer a higher transfer-fee.

“But Bayern know that the player would prefer to move to Munich if the clubs can agree on a deal.”

Ten Hag eyes swift Ronaldo solution

Erik ten Hag wants Cristiano Ronaldo’s Manchester United future to be resolved quickly — before it turns into a full-blown saga.

But United are determined not to let him leave for a Prem rival, despite interest from Chelsea.

The Red Devils continue to insist their legendary star is not for sale and they expect him to see out the final 12 months of his contract.

But Ten Hag is concerned the noise surrounding Ronaldo will affect his preparations for the new season – with all his other players now back.

    Good morning Chelsea fans

Chelsea are having internal differences regarding a potential swoop for Manchester United's wantaway superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.

According to SunSport's Andy Dillon, new Blues chairman Todd Boehly is a major fan of Ronaldo but must now convince manager Thomas Tuchel to go for him.

Tuchel and Boehly are set to hold talks on whether to follow up with a firm bid for the five-time Ballon d'Or winner or invest elsewhere.

The German head coach insists Manchester City star Raheem Sterling and defenders are his priority, having lost key centre-backs this summer.

But the American owner wants a marquee signing to launch his regime after taking over last month in a £4.25billion deal.

Meanwhile, Chelsea and City are close to agreeing on a transfer fee over Sterling.

Negotiations between the Premier League giants have been ongoing but now there's been progress, according to Sky Sports.

An agreement over the winger is imminent, and a deal will be completed if he can agree personal terms with the Blues.

If that's the case, the ex-Liverpool star will likely earn more at Stamford Bridge than he currently brings in with City.

And Chelsea are hoping to secure Juventus star Matthijs de Ligt or City ace Nathan Ake this week.

According to the Evening Standard, De Ligt and Ake are the two players the Blues are in talks with.

The West Londoners had swap deals involving the likes of Jorginho and Timo Werner for the Juve centre-back rejected by the Serie A giants, who are adamant they value him at £103million.

If Chelsea do fail in their pursuit of the Netherlands international then they may try and re-sign Ake.

But Chelsea could be set for a transfer blow as Bayern Munich may pip them to the signing of De Ligt.

The Blues are reported to have had a £34million bid plus either Werner or Pulisic turned down by Juve.

And the West Londoners now look likely to miss out altogether as Bayern eye up a deal for the ex-Ajax star.

According to Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg, De Ligt has his eyes set on a switch to the Allianz Arena following talks with manager Julian Nagelsmann and sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic.

Plettenberg tweeted: "Bayern wants him & De Ligt wants to join Bayern! Talks with Nagelsmann & Salihamidzic impressed him!

"Negotiations between Bayern/Juve have started. Talks are good.

"But he‘s very expensive. Transfer fee expected between €60m [£51.6m]-€80m[£69m]"

    De Ligt replacement identified

Juventus are considering Arsenal ace Gabriel Magalhaes as a potential replacement for Chelsea target Matthijs de Ligt.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Juve are making Gabriel their number one priority if they sell De Ligt in the summer.

The Netherlands international has been linked with a move to the Blues, while Bayern Munich are also keeping tabs on him.

However, the Bianconeri are getting ready to lose him and could move for the Brazil international

    Ronaldo given ‘indefinite leave’

Manchester United superstar and Chelsea target Cristiano Ronaldo has “effectively been given indefinite leave” after his transfer bombshell.

Ronaldo wasn’t part of the returning crop of players for pre-season training on Monday as he was given extra time off due to family reasons.

United are insisting that his absence is genuinely due to personal issues and that he is not for sale this summer.

However, The Telegraph states that it is “unclear” when the star forward will return and that there is doubt over whether he will fly to Asia and Australia on Friday with the rest of the squad for pre-season.

And they also add that it all “effectively amounts to a case of indefinite leave” for the Portugal captain

    Sterling shouldn't go

Manchester City shouldn't let Chelsea target Raheem Sterling go, according to Anton Ferdinand.

Ferdinand told Sky Sports: "Me personally, if I'm Man City, I'm keeping him. I would try everything I can to tie him down to a new contract.

"He's a fantastic player, he's also a consistent performer and someone who has done it over the years in the Premier League.

"So, for Man City to be wanting to or happy to get rid of him, that shocks me.

"But as we know, they've got an abundance of depth in them areas of the pitch. If he goes, then they've got someone of great quality to come in and take his place"

    De Ligt agreement

Juventus star Matthijs de Ligt has reached a verbal agreement with Bayern Munich.

That is according to Sport1, who report that De Ligt has sealed a deal with Bayern.

    Ard and fast

Chelsea have declared an interest in Bayern Munich ace Benjamin Pavard.

Pavard has held discussions with Bayern about leaving the club this summer.

According to Sky Germany, the talks "do not rule out a separation" as the full-back is unhappy at potentially losing his place in the team after Noussair Mazraoui's arrival from Ajax.

Chelsea are said to have already "signalled an interest" in the France International, whose contract runs until 2024 but the club could cash in if he remains unhappy

    Cech mate no more

Chelsea's first summer transfer could be on the verge of collapsing due to Petr Cech’s departure.

Cech became the latest high-profile figure at Stamford Bridge to leave following the club's £4.25billion takeover by Todd Boehly's consortium.

The 40-year-old stepped down from his role as the Blues' technical and performance advisor last week.

However, the legendary goalkeeper's exit has left the potential transfer deal for 18-year-old American keeper Gabriel Slonina in jeopardy.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano tweeted: “Chelsea had a verbal agreement to purchase Chicago Fire goalkeeper Gabriel Slonina for €10M.

“However, following the departure of Petr Cech, it remains to be seen as to whether the deal could collapse. He was ‘really close’ to joining in January”

The club's chief executive, Eddy Cordier said: "When will Charly Musonda return to training? I don't know. Will he ever come back? No idea.

"I don't know whether we will pull the plug on him because he hasn't been in since he trained a couple of weeks ago and there has been no contact.
