    Former Chelsea star's tough decision

Former Chelsea star Andreas Christensen's Barcelona career could be over before it's officially started.

The Blues defender, along with a slew of other Barca signings haven't yet been registered as the La Liga season looms.

And according to ESPN, Christensen and his counterparts have the right to exercise a clause that allows them to leave for free if they aren't registered in time for Barca's opening game on August 13.

It's looking increasingly unlikely that Barca will make the necessary wage deductions to meet La Liga's demands with just three days left until the season begins.

Chelsea are prepared to break the bank to sing Frenkie de Jong from Barcelona, although Man United will fight them until the bitter end.

That's the view of Fabrizio Romano, who said: "Chelsea are prepared to pay what Barcelona want for Frenkie de Jong once the player will decide, while Manchester United already have an agreement since July with Barca for €75m plus €10m in add-ons.

“The decision is now up to the player himself, it will have to be Frenkie who decides and Man United will try to the end knowing that Chelsea can offer UCL football and are ready to make a proposal."

    Sterling tipped for huge impact

Raheem Sterling has been tipped to have a huge impact at Chelsea this season by Rio Ferdinand.

Sterling scored on Saturday against Everton in his debut for Chelsea but it was ruled offside.

And the Man Utd legend reckons there will be more to come from the England international.

Ferdinand told William Hill: “I was surprised there wasn’t as much, not anger, but disbelief from the City fans, and there wasn’t as much ‘yes we’ve got him’ at Chelsea.

"It was weird, it was one of those signings… and the price – you think for the output that he’s had in his career at City alone, I was expecting more both ways.

“I don’t know why it was like that. If you ask every right-back in the league who their hardest player to play against at left-wing is, he’d be in everyone’s top two or three, easy, and top of most lists.

"It’s a big season for him and I think he’ll have a good opportunity to have a big impact.”
