Chelsea 'will contact Napoli about stunning Victor Osimhen transfer' but are behind two clubs in race for striker | The Sun

CHELSEA reportedly plan to contact Napoli over a stunning move for Victor Osimhen.

The Blues need to sign a new striker to boost their attack ahead of next season.

Last season, Chelsea struggled in front of goal as they only scored 38 times in the Premier League.

Osimhen would be a fantastic option after his 26 Serie A goals helped Napoli to the title.

The Stamford Bridge side are now ready to make a move for the Nigerian, according to Sky Sports journalist Massimo Marianella.

However, he claims that Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are ahead of the Blues in the race to sign Osimhen.

He told Sky Sports Italia: "In the last few hours in England, they say that even Chelsea are about to make a phone call to Napoli for Osimhen.

"It seems that one door is closed, which is that of Real Madrid, the two most open to catch a striker remain Manchester United and PSG.

"At that point, a place would also open up at Tottenham."

Osimhen's contract at the Diego Armando Maradona stadium is set to expire in 2025 and the club are keen to hand him a new contract.

However, it is thought that the Italian side would cash in on him should they receive an offer of £150million.

Man United are believed to be prepared to offer the club £130m, although they are also interested in Spurs star Harry Kane, if Spurs would agree to sell.

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino is lacking striker options in his squad with Romelu Lukaku expected to leave the club this summer.

The Belgian is keen on a return to Inter Milan, where he spent last season on loan.

While last season's striker, Kai Havertz, is thought to be closing in on a move to Arsenal.
