Darts star John Henderson says his huge weight loss is thanks to swapping greasy foods for salads.
The 50-year-old Scotsman decided to shred the pounds during the pandemic, having reached an alarming level of obesity. When he returned to the oche he looked much healthier, going on to win the 2021 World Cup alongside Peter Wright.
Speaking to Oche180, Henderson gave a positive update. ''I’m close to reversing my diabetes," he said. "My blood sugars are at a good level now but for the next 12 months they want to keep me on the medication.

"I’ve just got to continue my exercise and diet. The weight is now coming off slower. In total I’ve lost four stone since the pandemic.
Explaining how he started the journey, he continued: "I was so bored so I was walking my partner Veronica to the bus and back every day."

And touching on the all-important change in the diet, Henderson added: "I’m now eating a lot healthier, I just stick to salads and have cut out the greasy food."
He unfortunately won't be showing off his improved look at Alexandra Palace next month after an agonising end to the PDC Challenge Tour season for him.

He missed out on qualification for the World Darts Championship after Owen Bates survived six match darts against Mike Warburton to reach the final of the last tournament, meaning he booked his place instead.
That also meant Henderson missed out on a Tour Card for the next two years. Bates, meanwhile, has been forced to change his witty nickname – Master – before heading to Ally Pally.
