Darwin Nunez 'makes Liverpool and Man Utd transfer decision and tells Benfica who he wants to join in £80m move' | The Sun

DARWIN NUNEZ has informed Benfica he prefers to join Liverpool over Manchester United, reports suggest.

That is according to Football Insider, who claim Nunez has been pushing for a move to Anfield “as soon as possible”.

In fact, the striker would like to seal a deal with the Reds by the end of the week, if that is possible.

The Merseysiders are discussing a deal worth £80million, including add-ons, with the Lisbon giants.

Negotiations are moving fast as Liverpool have also offered the Uruguay international a lucrative long-term deal.

The 22-year-old is seen as a potential replacement for Sadio Mane, whose contract runs out next year and is unlikely to extend amid intense interest from Bayern Munich.

The FA Cup holders would like to secure Nunez before giving the green light for Mane to join Bayern.

The forward has also been linked with rivals United, who are looking to add some firepower after enduring their worst ever Premier League season.

The Uruguayan enjoyed a stunning season with Benfica in the Primeira Liga and the Champions League.

The centre-forward amassed a whopping total of 34 goals and four assists in 41 appearances.
