De Jong's agent 'set for Barcelona talks amid Man Utd transfer interest but Xavi will only sell if club sign Silva' | The Sun

FRENKIE DE JONG'S agent is set to hold talks with Barcelona over his client's future amid Manchester United's reported interest.

According to Mundo Deportivo, De Jong's representative Ali Dursun is schedule to fly to the Catalan capital within the next few days.

The Spanish outlet adds that manager Xavi would only agree to the midfielder's departure if the club signed a worthy replacement.

The Barcelona boss' preferred choice in that case would be Manchester City star Bernardo Silva.

The 42-year-old tactician believes Silva meets the necessary requirements to add quality in the middle of the park.

The same report suggests Xavi would agree to let the 25-year-old go if the Catalan giants signed Bayern Munich superstar Robert Lewandowski.

The Blaugrana are aware that various different clubs, including United, have approached De Jong.

Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich are reportedly interested in the Dutchman as well.

But it is understood that Barca have yet to receive an official proposal for the player.
