    Fighting on

Unlike his underfire pal Boris Johnson, Derek Chisora remains fiercely popular at the polls, even after three defeats on the spin.

And anyone who tries to talk him into retirement will be voted out of his party.

"Everybody has got an opinion," he said about those of us who worry about the punishment he has taken in 44 pro fights.

"But everyone wants to talk about the same thing – retirement.

"But I don’t listen to people, that is one thing I have learnt in this game – you listen to no one, you do what makes you happy.

"Listening to people, running around saying people have told me to do this or do that, forget that."

    In the blue corner

Derek Chisora went nose-to-nose with Kubrat Pulev in a Boris Johnson mask and amazingly wasn't booed off stage.

The 38-year-old Zimbabwe born Brexiteer and pal of Nigel Farage donned the blonde disguise in support of BoJo.

And, up against the 41-year Bulgarian nicknamed the Cobra, it might have looked to some Labour voters or ex-MPs like there were two snakes on the weigh-in stage.

But Del Boy was just trying to send a message of support to the heavyweight PM who has just lost a 12-round pasting from his own corner.

"I haven’t met Boris," he told SunSport with one eye on the TV as the news of his collapse emerged. "But I like Boris.

"I think the country should be run by people who don’t really care. It is easier that way.

"And then you have people work for you who do care. The biggest and hardest decisions have to be made by people who don’t care, emotionally.

"If you don’t care, you have great power, if you care too much, you don’t have power.

"If you are a surgeon, you can’t care about the person you are operating on because when you put fear in it, you can’t do it.

"If you just do what you are meant to do, people survive."

    Sol searching

On the undercard, heavyweight prospect Solomon Dacres just improved to 8-0.

He beat Kevin Nicolas Espindola over eight rounds on points.

Dacres is not the only heavyweight on the undercard, with Fabio Wardley also in action.

    Fight night

Derek Chisora returns to the ring tonight in a rematch with Kubrat Pulev that has been dubbed "Total Carnage".

Pulev won the original in Germany by disputed split-decision in 2016.

Now they rematch six years later with the bad blood still flowing as Chisora looks for revenge – and his first win in three fights.

They almost came to blows as the press conference just days before the first bell.

But tonight at the O2, the volatile heavyweight rivals get their chance to settle it once and for all.

And SunSport will be giving you updates as the card progresses.
