Devin Haney puts on repeat masterclass to beat George Kambosos Jr on points in rematch and vows to take on 'all comers' | The Sun

DEVIN HANEY put on a repeat masterclass performance to beat George Kambosos Jr on points again.

Haney, only four months after beating Kambosos in the Aussie's Melbourne back garden, returned to the scene of the crime.

And the unbeaten American put on another boxing clinic over 12 rounds to retain his WBC, WBA, IBF and WBO undisputed lightweight titles.

Haney, 23, said: "I should definitely be on the pound-for-pound rankings.

"In the first fight they said all I had was my jab, today I came in and showed them my right hand.

"I showed how versatile I am. I came to Australia not once but twice, beat the man in his hometown twice."

Haney bossed the action utilising simple boxing fundamentals, scoring with razor sharp jabs and one-two combinations.

Kambosos, 29, was light on his feet in the early stages, switching stances and trying to make life difficult for the flashy champion.

But Haney, who turned professional at just 17, was wise to anything coming his way and landed some beautiful counters, specifically with the left hook.

Kambosos found home to some stinging body shots during the second half of the bout.

But at time Haney made it look like target practise with his jab, lead right hand and near-perfect one-two down the middle.

As the bell sounded for the final time, as was the case in Melbourne in the summer, there was no doubt in the result.

Haney lofted all four 135lb belts high in the air and embraced with Kambosos following 24 rounds shared between the pair.

The scorecards read 119-109, and 118-110 twice, all in Haney's favour as the American sent out a message to the division.

He said: "We're taking on all comers, no matter who it is we want to fight the best fighters in the world.

"I believe I am the best fighter in the world, whoever it is next, bring it on."
