Embarrassed Tottenham fan is caught celebrating too soon

Tottenham fan’s nightmare moment as he celebrates too soon in a beer garden after their late equaliser at Liverpool… only to mobbed by rival supporters seconds later when the Reds won it in stoppage time

  • Spurs came from 3-0 down to tie things up at 3-3 deep into stoppage time
  • Liverpool though scored a fourth to take the three points from a frantic game
  • The fan was mocked by several Liverpool supporters for his premature cheers

A Tottenham fan was hilariously caught out over-celebrating Richarlison’s equaliser against Liverpool on video.

The supporter, Twitter user @xDuoMax, was filmed cheering the Brazilian’s goal deep into stoppage time at Anfield as Spurs came back from 3-0 down to tie the game at 3-3.

It looked for all of a few seconds that Ryan Mason’s side were going to earn a point, but Diogo Jota netted seconds later to put Liverpool back ahead and win them the game.

Max, who claims to follow the club ‘home and away where possible’, is seen screaming ‘come on’ into the camera before looking up and seeing Liverpool re-take the lead.

He’s then ambushed by those around him, who mock the supporter for his celebrations just moments prior.

The Spurs fan is clearly embarrassed as he slumps into his chair as those around him continue to give him stick.

‘That couldn’t be a better Sunday!’ shouts one fan, while another exclaims: ‘I don’t give a **** what happens now, that’s ******* made my day!’

The video, captioned: ‘I CAN’T BELIEVE IT’ accompanied by several laughing face emojis, ends after 53 seconds with the fan in question sat in despair.

The clip currently has over 40,000 views on Twitter.

‘This is iconic,’ said on supporter in the replies to the tweet.

‘I would end it all on the spot,’ added another.

Max tweeted on Monday morning: ‘My head hurts,’ before posting again: ‘3-0 down yesterday and we still fight back to a position where I thought we could win the game, the hope really does kill you being a Spurs fan.’

Tottenham are sixth in the Premier League and their hopes of finishing in the Champions League places for next season seem to be all but over.
