ENGLAND’S Euro champions are hoping to pack out Wembley once again for a mouth-watering friendly against the USA.
The Lionesses are set to play against the World Cup holders on Friday October 7 – providing they qualify for the tournament next month.
England head coach Sarina Wiegman said: “It is really exciting to have the chance to play the US at Wembley if we can make sure of qualification for the World Cup.
“It would be the perfect game for our squad to meet another strong team after so many tough games in the Euros.
“It is good we enjoy the moment we are in after this wonderful summer, but we know we still have work to do to take the next step forward.”
The match will also mark the 50th anniversary of the first official England women’s fixture on November 18, 1972 – and the FA aim to invite every living Lioness.

On Sunday England ended nearly six decades of footballing pain in front of a record crowd of 87,192 at Wembley – the biggest attendance at the Euros, men or women.
Now right-back Lucy Bronze, 30, wants to carry on the momentum and regularly play international fixtures at big Premier League grounds.
The only real disappointment of the tournament was that Brighton’s Amex Stadium and Sheffield United’s Bramall Lane felt too small for England’s quarter and semi-finals and the north-east was overlooked.
She said: “Wembley is great. The fact that we’ve been able to play at Wembley so much was an advantage for us.

“But also the support we have had around the country has been amazing.
“Old Trafford is a night that almost topped what happened at the final.
Obviously we have got so many northerners and people all around.
“I know for myself I’d love to play at St. James’ Park. We’d love to play at Anfield, Goodison Park, all these amazing stadiums that we’ve got in England.
“It would be amazing to travel the country and maybe give that a go.

“We just need to make sure we focus on selling out the stadiums that we do get. We know that there is going to be huge interest now.
“We have been playing in big stadiums anyway at the 20,000 to 30,000 capacity. We want to make sure we fill those stadiums and if we can do that, then why can’t we go bigger and better.”
