Erling Haaland's '£172m Man City transfer release clause will fall to £150m in 2025.. but only if he hits his targets' | The Sun

ERLING HAALAND's £172million Manchester City release clause will fall to £150m in 2025 IF he hits specific targets, it has been revealed.

The Norwegian superstar joined the Premier League champions this summer thanks to a savvy £51m release clause allowing him to leave Borussia Dortmund.

But according to Spanish newspaper Marca, Haaland has two release clauses inserted into his Man City contract.

Starting in the summer of 2024, Haaland can be bought for a record £172m.

That fee could drop to just £150m based on whether he hits specific targets.

However, the targets Haaland has to meet are not stated in the report.

And should Haaland's release clause drop to £150m, it could allow Real Madrid to get their hands on the long-term target.

Real paying a high fee for the striker wouldn't be out of the ordinary.

They bid £175m for Kylian Mbappe last summer when the Frenchman had just one year left on his deal at Paris Saint-Germain.

Haaland has also previously expressed his desire to play in Spain one day.
