Ex-darts No1 Colin Lloyd rages at McDonalds after food missing from bag again

Former darts world No. 1 Colin Lloyd was left fuming after McDonald's messed up his order.

Lloyd, who won the 2004 World Grand Prix and the 2005 World Matchplay to launch himself to the top of the PDC rankings, celebrated his 50th birthday on Monday (August 7).

It seems he gave himself a late gift the following day as he headed to his local Maccies – but he returned home to find some of his food missing, a nightmare scenario we've all encountered at some point or another.

Jaws, as he was nicknamed during his career, took to Twitter to vent his frustrations. He posted: "Thanks very much as per normal @McDonaldsUK at Stanway.

"Ordered my food (inside) and not for the first time food is missing but paid for. I'm the one who chose to come to you for me and my family and pay for it but I wonder whose food wasn't in the bag #shockin."

Lloyd was partial to the more than occasional takeaway during his playing days, once stripping off his shirt after losing to Gary Anderson at the Worlds in 2012 to show off his big belly.

But since standing at the oche for the final time five years ago, he's undergone a major body transformation which has seen him shed seven stone in weight.

It was during the coronavirus pandemic he decided to join a fitness class called Tone to the Bone, led by instructor Coralie Mariaux.

Reflecting on his weight loss journey, he told the Gazette last year: "I was diabetic and I was stuck at home – I would normally be out and about but instead I was stuck in the house and the garden. It was absolutely killing me – I was just eating and drinking and I thought ‘this ain’t right’."
