Gary Neville left in hysterics at fan’s bizarre request that 'no one has ever asked' before | The Sun

GARY NEVILLE was left in stitches after a fan asked for his TIE during the Manchester derby on Sunday.

The 48-year-old was on punditry duty for Sky Sports as his former team fell to a 3-0 defeat to rivals Manchester City at Old Trafford.


But halfway through the match he got distracted by a young fan's homemade sign, which read: "Gary Neville can I have your tie please?"

United legend Neville posted a picture of the sign on X and commented: "No-one has ever asked for my clothes 😂."

Fans were quick to react, with one person writing: "Give the kid that tie!"

Another questioned: "Did you give him your tie? lol."

While other fans used it to poke fun at Manchester United, with one joking: "Fans don’t even want the current players shirt 😂."

And another commented: "Man United are so c**p, fans have stopped asking for shirts 😂."

United fans were left furious following Sunday's 3-0 defeat.

However, after the match Erik ten Hag admitted that he was pleased with his team's first-half performance.

He told MUTV: "The gameplan in the first half was very disciplined and then you see how successful it can be.

"We made an error for the second goal, we made a mistake. A wrong decision by going up to the keeper at the wrong moment.

"We did not recover quick and they can switch the play, our players are in the wrong positions and they make a great goal.

"We went out of shape and got killed by that but the first half was so perfect as we defended so well."

City striker Erling Haaland broke the deadlock from the penalty spot in the 26th minute after Rodri was fouled by Rasmus Hojlund in the box.

The Premier League Golden Boot winner then scored his second with a header from close range before assisting Phil Foden in the 80th minute.
