GERARD Piqué has referred to his younger lover Clara Chia in public for the first time as his girlfriend and admitted she wears the trousers.
The former Barcelona defender confessed he was a "puppet" of the 23-year-old’s clothing choices during an interview that is likely add fuel to the fire in the high-profile Shakira-Piqué saga.
The ex-golden couple announced their separation back in June amid rumours the former Barca star had cheated on her.
Piqué's new comments were made during an on-air chat with Spanish streamer Ibai Llanos about their new football competition – the seven-aside King’s League.
Llanos asked him whether he is inspired by trends in fashion magazines as the former star footballer showed off his attire during a streaming session.
Pique, who last month went Instagram official with Clara Chia Marti, replied: “The truth is I go with my girlfriend to the shops and she buys them for me."

“I’m a puppet," he added.
The 36-year-old admitted that Clara had become his stylist as well as his new love after the couple were filmed last week walking through the streets of the Catalan capital together.
It marked a further progression in their relationship amid the media storm surrounding Shakira's new music singles, where she has taken a swipe at her ex in Te Felicito and Monotonía.
Her explosive revenge song, released last month, features scathing lyrics aimed at the new couple.

In "Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol 53", Shakira sings: "I'm too big for you, that's why you're with someone just like you".
Other scornful lyrics include: " "I’m worth two 22’s. You traded a Ferrari for a Twingo. You traded a Rolex for a Casio."
The diss track reportedly caused Clara to move in with her parents temporarily to escape the media storm.
Shrugging of criticism of her heavy-handed attack on her footballer ex-partner, Shakira said the creation of her new music felt like a "release".
The song stormed to the top of Spotify’s Top 50 Global chart and became the most streamed Latin song in a single day in the platform's chart history.
As their bitter split has been playing out over world headlines, the pair spared their two kids (Sasha, 7 and Milan, 10) further stress by signing the custody agreement over the New Year.
Piqué's family lawyer, who represented the ex-footballer in his negotiations with the Colombian artist, has recently lifted the lid on what happened inside's their bombshell custody battle.
Ramon Tamborero, insisted: "They have made a great effort for the good of their children, making sure they weren’t the protagonists.
"Both of them have shown great intelligence."
In a surprise interview with respected Catalan daily La Vanguardia, the 74-year-old admitted the talks "required seven months of negotiations.
"The agreement was complex and required preparatory meetings. And the decisive reunion before the signing lasted 13 hours," he added.
Mr Tamborero hinted he had urged Piqué to carry on talking to Shakira by telling the newspaper: “I always tell my clients: once you’ve signed your divorce agreement I advise you to put it in a draw and dialogue.”
However, the ex-couple of 12 years continue to throw shade at one another.
It has been revealed that Shakira used to call Clara Chia "little dead fly" (mosquita muerta) – a Spanish expression used to describe someone innocent, someone above suspicion.
Speaking to the TV show Mitre Live journalist Roberto Antolin said: "It was a total surprise" when she later discovered her husband's affair with the PR assistant.
"That's why it hurt her so much, because she already knew her, and she called her 'little dead fly.'"
The journalist continued: "Clara Chia was a person who went unnoticed….Shakira never saw her as a danger".
The Hips Dont Lie singer is reportedly planning a "tell-all" big TV interview – to get her side of the story out there.
According to Spanish outlet 20 minutos, she is considering sharing intimate details about her breakup with the former Barcelona defender.
Shakira has also been making waves with alleged neighbourly disputes with Piqué's parents.
In late January, Shakira refused to take down a terrifying, life-size witch doll from her balcony that overlooks her ex-mother-in-law's house.
As well as the spooky doll, Shakira's neighbours have said she's been "blasting" her newest scathing single – BZRP Music Sessions #53 – at "full volume" and on repeat for Piqué's parents to hear.
In the last few hours the former football ace admitted Shakira was the most famous person outside the world of football he had as a contact.
