Gerwyn Price has brought the house down at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool by hitting a stunning nine-dart finish in his World Matchplay semi-final against Danny Noppert.
The Welshman hit a perfect leg to go 8-5 up in the first-to-17 match against Dutchman Noppert. His next four darts hits the treble 20 legs too as he briefly threatened to repeat the trick. It was the first nine-darter of this year’s tournament, which has produced a series of dramatic, high-quality matches.
The Iceman is no stranger to nine-dart finishes having hit two in one night during the Premier League earlier this year. It has been a largely difficult 2022 for Price, who has struggled with form and injury. But the former world champion has been back to his brilliant best in Blackpool.
