HEARTS star Alex Cochrane was pelted by objects thrown from the crowd during the Edinburgh Derby against Hibs.
The unsavoury scenes took place in the 65th minute of the match with the Jambos leading 1-0 thanks to Lawrence Shankland's first half strike.
The left wing back went over to take a throw-in on the far side of the pitch in front of the Hibs fans.
However, as he went over to collect the ball he had several objects thrown at him.
Items were hurled in Cochrane's direction, and empty plastic cups could be seen by the side of the pitch.
He appeared to be struck by one small red object and went down clutching his head.
The former Brighton defender then had what appeared to be an entire box of chips thrown at him as he knelt on the ground.
Referee John Beaton was quickly over to usher Cochrane out of the way.
The Sky Sports commentators were left unimpressed by the scenes.
Former Hibs striker Andy Walker, on co-commentary duty, also claimed he'd seen a bottle allegedly thrown at goal scorer Shankland as he celebrated his strike.

Ian Crocker said: "This is just ridiculous.
Walker added: "I saw a bottle coming on when Shankland scored his goal.
"It doesn't matter what they're throwing, they shouldn't be throwing anything.
"The players have got to feel safe.
"I hope its just chips and no coins or lighters being thrown at him."
A number of fans also ran on to the pitch to celebrate Martin Boyle's last gasp equaliser.
Sky spoke to Hibs chief executive Ben Kensell after the game, who addressed both situations.
He said: "We can't condone it but sometimes the passions of what happens dictates that.
"There's things we need to look at. We'd ask our fans to act appropriately.
"There's a few incidents well look at post match.
"We'll address them internally but ultimately it's got to be a safe environment here at Easter Road."
Hibs also put out a statement after Kensell's TV appearance, reiterating the club would look into the incidents.
It read: "Hibernian FC is aware of alleged incidents where objects appeared to have been thrown towards Hearts players, pyros being thrown, and pitch incursions.
"These incidents will be reviewed again on the Stadium CCTV and if an incident can be detected and someone identified appropriate action will be taken by the Club.
"The club understands the passion that an Edinburgh Derby brings, and believes it has some of the best supporters in Scotland, but remains committed to providing a safe environment for players, officials and supporters."
