Horse racing tips: After 20-1 King George stunner get on this 33-1 shot to shine at Glorious Goodwood | The Sun

SUN Racing has picked out a few tasty tips for the action at Glorious Goodwood.

Pyledriver stormed home at a massive 20-1 in last week's King George so we go into this big meeting in flying form.

The five days of high quality action begins today and we have a tip for the Vintage Stakes.

CHEERFUL Charlie Fellowes has told every man and his dog in Newmarket town to get fifty sovs on Marbaan in today's Vintage Stakes (2.25).

His classy juvenile can be backed at double-figure odds in the seven furlong Group 2.

Excellent Jamie Spencer is booked for a colt who has won his last two at a stroll and doesn't have much ground to make up with the fancied runners.

Fellowes said: "Sheikh Ahmed sent me three at the start of this year and that was a big moment for the yard. As soon as I saw this lad I thought he could be special. I think he is a Group horse in the making.

"Jamie is one of the best judges around and loves him. He was desperate to get on him at Goodwood.

"Marbaan will not have a problem with the track. I fancy him big time."

WEEKEND WARRIOR

JUSTANOTHERBOTTLE can get the beers in on Saturday in the Stewards' Cup.

He has a good record in the race and is bang in form. He can win from the front so let's play up some of our Pyledriver winnings from last Saturday.

GEORGE SCOTT hopes to Rocket back into the big time at Glorious Goodwood.

The young Newmarket trainer has been to hell and back over the past couple of years.

Now 33, Scott started training in 2015 and quickly burst onto the scene thanks to stable star James Garfield.

His momentum saw Scott move to the legendary Eve Lodge Stables in 2019 but since then he has been in the doldrums.

Covid and a lack of stars on the track was made even worse when he was divorced from his wife Polly Gredley last year.

Any divorce is bad news but when your father-in-law was big-spending owner Bill Gredley – and he supplied you with most of your horses – it made things even tougher.

But in Rocket Rodney, Scott has found a horse to get him back in the big time and he's fancied to strike in tomorrow's Molecomb Stakes.

The juvenile was second to Little Big Bear in the Windsor Castle at Royal Ascot before taking Sandown's Dragon Stakes at a canter.

Scott said: "It's been a tough time both professionally and at home.

"It just nice to be talking about a good horse again. Rocket Rodney is the best one we have had since James Garfield.

"He was a very good two-year-old, but Rocket Rodney looks faster than him."

Scott has failed to beat his tally of 22 winners from 2017 each campaign, until now.

Already in 2022 his Hamilton Road stable has notched 23. And for Scott, who turned down a high-roller job in the City to become a trainer, a return to basics has paid dividends.

He said: "We've struggled the last couple of years. At the end of last season we worked out what we were doing right and what we weren't.

"We bought a speedier type of horse and it seems to have worked, a sharper type like this fella. Our strike-rate is up and we need to build back up. It won't happen overnight.

"I know how to train a good horse. It's getting them in the door, that's the hard bit."
