TEMPLEGATE takes on Newmarket's big handicap contest on Friday confident of finding you a winner.
Some 16 runners are due to line up in the bet365 Trophy over 1m6f at 3pm, with more than £50,000 going to the first past the post.

MANDOOB 3
MAN power. Few miles on the clock and has been running well in Listed races but was a little below par at York latest. May need even further and looks pretty high in the weights.

CANDLEFORD 5
BRIGHT Candle. Was so impressive when winning the Duke Of Edinburgh at Royal Ascot over 1m4f and looks as though this longer trip will be ideal. Up the weights but looks a Group horse.

MIDNIGHT express. Won a decent Epsom race for second year running last time and is a winning hurdler so should stay. This is tougher but Alan King contenders are always respected.

IN the Mixer. Cracking second in the Northumberland Plate over 2m last time and is a regular winner. A 3lb rise in the weights is fair and he has every chance of making the frame.

TRAWL or nothing. Was hampered behind the tip at Ascot after a decent AW win at Chelmsford. Has talent and looks on a fair weight if he copes with this step up in distance, which isn’t certain.

IN the Dark. Good Royal Ascot win over 1m5f and is up just 3lb for that. He goes on any ground and can’t be ruled off although his form has been inconsistent for a while.

SUMMER’S KNIGHT 4
SUMMER loving. Good fifth in the Northumberland Plate when probably held up for too long. Has lots of staying power and has decent turf form for Sir Mark Prescott. Solid each-way claims again.

TRIBAL ART 2
TAKE Art. Pulled up in the Northumberland Plate after a modest effort in the Ascot Stakes over 2m4f. This trip is more suitable but he has a few questions to answer now.

CONTACT 3
CON trick. Seven lengths behind the tip at Royal Ascot on the back of a good Haydock win. Looks capable of better over testing trips and is on a fair enough handicap mark.

SAM COOKE 3
BIG Sam. Quirky but capable of a big run on his day as he showed when third in the November Handicap. Seemed to stay this sort of trip at Ayr last time and his best form gives him a chance.

SOAPY STEVENS 3
SOAP opera. Game win over 2m at Chester latest after going close at Epsom. A 5lb weight rise means he needs a little more but his staying power is an asset.

ZOFFEE 4
FEE pays. Has done well back on the level with a good Northumberland Vase win over 2m at Newcastle last time. Booking of Frankie catches the eye and a 6lb rise in the weights is fair for a certain stayer.

HMS PRESIDENT 2
HMS sunk. Got up on the line over 1m4f at Goodwood so this extra furlong should help. Yard’s in form but he has a poor strike-rate overall.

DUBAI WELCOME 2
DUBAI bye. Solid form on the AW and stayed on well over 1m4f when scoring at Kempton. This is tougher but he’s lightly raced, especially on turf.

UBER COOL 1
UBER got lost. Needed his comeback at Newcastle last time but showed little. Stays this trip well but best form has come on soft ground.

RED FLYER 1
RED faced. Solid form at lower levels but was beaten by HMS President at Goodwood last time and hard to turn that around.

Templegate tip
CANDLE can burn the bookies.
CANDLEFORD was impressive when storming away with the Duke Of Edinburgh Stakes at Royal Ascot.
William Haggas’s hope shapes as though this longer trip will bring more improvement.
Spirit Mixer and Summer’s Knight both ran well in the Northumberland Plate last time and are contenders, along with Frankie’s ride Zoffee and Alan King’s Midnights Legacy.
