Horse racing tips: Templegate NAP can be a love story for punters and repeat win in same race last year | The Sun

TEMPLEGATE takes on a red-hot Saturday of racing confident of banging in a few winners.

He landed a 20-1 treble on Thursday and reckons he can keep the good times rolling.

Read on for all his tips and back a horse simply by clicking their odds.

HAPPY ROMANCE (2.56 Newbury, nap)

She won this 12 months ago and has every chance again. She loves being turned out quickly and her effort in the Group 1 July Cup last week should see her spot-on. This is more her level and she’s a major player.

CADILLAC (1.50 Newbury, nb)

He can motor home on his first run for new trainer Kevin Philippart de Foy. He was the easy winner of a Leopardstown Listed contest for Jessica Harrington last month before a good second in the Wolferton Stakes at Royal Ascot.

ASK PADDINGTON (2.06 Market Rasen, treble)

He made it three wins on the spin here last time and he has a cracking record at the track. This step up in distance shouldn’t be an issue and a 4lb rise for his latest success looks fair.

NEWBURY

1.50

CADILLAC can motor home on his first run for new trainer Kevin Philippart de Foy.

He was the easy winner of a Leopardstown Listed contest for Jessica Harrington last month before a good second in the Wolferton Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Connections shelled out a hefty £500,000 to buy the four-year-old and he can repay a slice of that over an ideal trip.

Grocer Jack was a Group 3 winner in Germany and has run well enough on both starts since moving to William Haggas over the winter.

He looked a little rusty before coming home nicely when fourth in a Chantilly Group 2 last time. He should benefit from that and is capable of figuring.

Finest Sound went close in the highest level at Meydan in March and probably just didn’t handle Epsom on his UK comeback in the Diomed Stakes.

Moving up to this trip looks a wise move but he’ll need his best.

Tasman Bay had been off 10 months before a quiet Royal Ascot effort. He’ll be fitter for that but has yet to score over this trip.

Desert Encounter ran well a few times last season without getting his head in front. He’s in double-figures age wise now and is entitled to need this return.

2.21

DIAMOND BAY looks a jewel. He acquitted himself well over this trip at Goodwood two runs ago when the tacky ground was against him.

Trainer Tom Ward dropped him back to 1m6f at Salisbury where he came home like a train when beaten a short-head. Moving up in distance in these quicker conditions should be right up his street.

Reshoun won this two years ago and ran a belter when second in the marathon Queen Alexandra Stakes at Royal Ascot. He will relish this ground and is back handicapping from a fair 5lb higher than his victory in this race.

Withhold took this in 2019 and is 2lb lower than that success today. He made his seasonal comeback with a close-up sixth over this trip at Chester last month. He can progress from that and looks a good each-way price.

Going Gone was beaten just over two lengths in the Ascot Stakes when trying a staying trip for the first time. That was an improved effort and he’s a threat off a fair mark.

Rock Eagle didn’t quite get home over 2m4f in that race and will be happier at this trip. He’s coming down the weights and trainer Ralph Beckett is in decent form.

Rainbow Dreamer and Auriferous are better on the all-weather.

2.56

HAPPY ROMANCE won this 12 months ago and has every chance again.

She loves being turned out quickly and her effort in the Group 1 July Cup last week should see her spot-on. This is more her level and she’s a major player.

Man Of Promise showed good pace in the King’s Stand at Royal Ascot but this extra furlong is ideal. He can go well under James Doyle.

Go Bears Go was a winner the last time he ran in this grade and will find this easier than the Commonwealth Cup he tried last time.

He looks solid each-way, as does Chil Chil who is having her first run of the season.

She is a proven Group 1 performer who saves her best for this distance.

Minzaal is respected with relatively few miles on the clock. He is a Group 2 winner over this distance but may just prefer the ground a little softer.

Rohaan was good when winning a second Wokingham and is another to consider.

3.30

MIAMI GIRL can land yet another Super Sprint for Richard Hannon. The yard has won it eight times this century including three of the past four runnings.

This speedster was a solid fifth in the Queen Mary at Royal Ascot before scooting in at Windsor last time. She has more to offer.

Maria Branwell was just ahead of the tip at the Royal meeting when finishing strongly. That is solid form and she’s a major contender although a stiffer track would be ideal.

Rogue Spirit went close in Beverley’s big two-year-old race in May before an easy success on the all-weather at Wolverhampton. He has lots of pace and the potential for a good deal more.

Once More For Luck left his debut form behind when holding on well at Ffos Las. This is much tougher but he can take another step up.

Union Court didn’t get the run of the race when midfield in the Windsor Castle Stakes last time. She won her first two starts in fine style and has gone under the radar a little for this. She has every chance of making the frame.

Eddie’s Boy got a better run in that Windsor Castle and boxed on for a good third. He needs a bit more but isn’t ruled out.

MARKET RASEN

2.06

ASK PADDINGTON made it three wins on the spin here last time and he has a cracking record at the track.

This step up in distance shouldn’t be an issue and a 4lb rise for his latest success looks fair.

Apache Creek is a thorough stayer who cashed in when his rival fell at the last at Warwick latest.

He has few miles on the clock and could have more to offer.

Galileo Silver got the better of Jersey Wonder at Ffos Las last month. The latter is 2lb better off today but that form is likely to be confirmed. They both have a little to find though.

Could Be Trouble made a few errors over fences at Uttoxeter latest but was only a length off the pace.

She’s a solid hurdler on a fair mark so can’t be discounted.

2.41

CIRQUE ROYAL looked very speedy when winning by more than eight lengths at Perth before another smooth success at Perth last time.

Despite that strong form, he makes his handicap debut from what looks a fair mark with much more to come for Irish trainer Gerald Quinn.

Ingleby Hollow has gone close in this race a couple of times and has run well a couple of times this season.

He will make his usual late bid and could easily hit the frame again.

Galata Bridge was impressive when scoring at Huntingdon last time out in May. He’s been hiked 12lb for that impressive effort but it’s early days for Dr Newland’s runner and he can cope with that. He’s a strong contender in this hotter company.

Hurricane Ali landed wins at Bangor and Aintree before a solid third at quirky Cartmel latest.

He’s off the same mark as that Cumbrian run and has an each-way shout.

Toronto is another having his sights raised after a solid Stratford success. He makes his handicap debut with a bit to find.

3.14

FRANCKY DU BERLAIS is only 2lb higher than when winning this race 12 months ago and trainer Peter Bowen has a strong record in this race.

This nine-year-old is consistent and ran a nice prep for this when third at Uttoxeter latest.

Stablemate Statuario was a close-up second here last month and has solid place claims. The horse that beat him that day, Mahler’s Promise, looks a real contender.

A 5lb rise for that success looks fair and he’s right at home over today’s trip.

Mortlach is unbeaten in three chases and sauntered to victory at Aintree last month. He’s only tackled small fields so far but the Fergal O’Brien hopeful has more to come.

La Domaniale was impressive when scoring at Uttoxeter for the second time earlier this month. She’s out again quickly from 5lb higher and looks capable of better on just her fourth chase run.

Manofthemountain has been given a chance by the handicapper and wasn’t beaten far at Uttoxeter latest.

He’ll be staying on and could nab a place for Emma Lavelle.

CURRAGH

3.45

MAGICAL LAGOON can upset the hotpot and win the Irish Oaks. Jessica Harrington’s Galileo filly showed real heart when winning the Ribblesdale Stakes at Royal Ascot last time.

She relished moving up from 1m2f to this trip and galloped right through the line.

That was just her second run of the season and her first at this distance so there should be more to come.

Aidan O’Brien has won this six times but he needs improvement from his trio to make it seven.

Ryan Moore has chosen to ride Toy who came up short in the French Guineas and Oaks.

A better Ballydoyle chance appears to be History who was no match for the tip at Royal Ascot.
