Ran his best race of the season when a close second over course and distance 19 days ago. He has won here before and this looks a good chance to strike again.
SHIMMERING SANDS (8.25 Doncaster, nb)
Had six lengths to spare when scooting in at Beverley last week. He can easily cope with a 6lb penalty for that success.
SEA OF CHARM (8.38 Newbury, treble)
Was a good second in a similar race to this at Doncaster last time. There was a long way back to the third so the form looks solid. She can go one better today.

FAIRY CROSS can land this Listed contest.
She looked a nice prospect when winning at Newmarket last time and has a lot more to offer.
Bet Me, with Ryan Moore in the saddle, and Dance In The Grass look like her biggest dangers along with Tagline who ran well at Royal Ascot.
BET ME 4
YOU Bet. Made a nice start when winning a Goodwood maiden by four lengths over 6f but this trip should be ideal. Ryan Moore is a good booking in the saddle and there should be a lot more to come.
DANCE IN THE GRASS 4
DANCE in step. Showed good pace when scoring on debut over course and distance with a bit in the tank. Has had a little break since then and should improve on this fair hike in class.
FAIRY CROSS 5
FAIRY tale. Needed her debut at HQ and improved plenty on that when landing a bloodless success on Newmarket’s July course four weeks ago. That was over this distance and she has a lot more to offer. She’s bred to be well up to this standard.
IBIZA LOVE 3
LOVE in. Got off the mark at Donny before holding her own in the Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot, albeit a fair way off the winner. She needs to improve on that but should enjoy this extra furlong and fast ground suits.
INANNA 2
IN at the deep end. Got up on the line to score on debut at Haydock back in May and hasn’t been out since. She can build on that encouraging first effort but is facing strong opposition here.
IPANEMA PRINCESS 2
PRINCESS won’t reign. Enjoyed stepping up to this trip when getting off the mark at Epsom earlier this month from the front. This is much stiffer opposition so another step forward is needed.
LADY ALARA 3
LADY luck. Won in a big field at Newbury on debut despite losing a shoe and will appreciate this extra furlong here. She’s one of many in with a shout if finding improvement.
MLLE CHANEL 2
CHANEL deep. Looked very green when winning on debut at Chester last month when she needed every yard of this trip. The yard’s runners usually come on for the run but this is a good deal tougher.
PURE GOLD 3
GOLD run. Frankie Dettori takes over on David Menusier’s filly who had a bit in the tank when scoring on debut at Kempton. There should be a lot more to come in this stiffer grade.
TAGLINE 4
TOP Tag. Won a Windsor maiden before running well in this grade at Newmarket and again in the Group 2 Duchess Of Cambridge Stakes at Royal Ascot. That’s much the best form on show and she’s a major player.
