Horse racing tips: Templegate NAP in Goodwood's big race looks primed to land 11-2 odds for superb trainer | The Sun

TEMPLEGATE takes on a monster Saturday of racing confident of landing you a fair few winners.

Read on for our man's tips and back a horse by clicking their odds below.

ORAZIO (3.35 Goodwood, nap)

Comes from Charles Hills who has won this race twice with well-backed runners in recent seasons. His four-year-old has a massive chance on ground that should be ideal. He kicked off this season with a smooth win in tacky ground at Newmarket before a much-improved effort at Ascot in May. He was far from disgraced when sixth in the Wokingham on ground that was too quick for him. His low draw should be fine judged by the results this week and he has more to come with few miles on the clock.

ZAMAN JEMIL (1.50 Goodwood, nb)

He was impressive when winning under hands and heels at Thirsk last time. He carries a 6lb penalty for that but is clearly improving and Ryan Moore takes over today. He has handled soft and quick ground.

LIBERTY LANE (5.20 Goodwood, treble)

He looked well up to this level with a good fourth at Newmarket last time. He didn’t get the clearest of runs before finishing off well. This extra furlong should bring improvement.

ZAMAN JEMIL was impressive when winning under hands and heels at Thirsk last time.

He carries a 6lb penalty for that but is clearly improving and Ryan Moore takes over today. He has handled soft and quick ground.

Monsieur Kodi deserves a good win after a run of placed efforts. He scored at Thirsk in June and has gone close twice since off this mark.

All ground comes the same and Richard Fahey’s horses are running well.

Justcallmepete went down in a head-bobber on the July course at Newmarket last Saturday.

He is slowly creeping up the weights but his rider’s 7lb claim today takes care of that.

Music Society had a nice pipe-opener for this at York latest but went close at Ayr before that and is best over this distance.

It would be no surprise to see him bounce back.

Royal Parade scored here two runs ago before not firing at York latest.

He’s 6lb higher than that success but his liking for the track gives him every chance.

Capote’s Dream tried to come from a long way back when third at Newmarket latest.

It’s two years now since his last win so a place is probably the best he can hope for.

Count Otto is in fine heart after winning at Windsor and Epsom, both over this distance.

He’s not getting any younger but is another with an each-way shout under in-form Jim Crowley.

Live In The Moment hasn’t scored since 2020 but has run some decent races in defeat. He’s coming down the weights and has a claimer on board which could help.

MR CURIOSITY looks to be crying out for this trip after getting up on the line in good company over 1m4f last time.

There was some cut in the ground there so it will be fine if it’s still a little on the testing side on the Downs.

A 3lb rise for that last success gives Tim Easterby’s hope every chance.

Sweet William is progressing too and enjoyed the step up to two miles when winning a decent Newbury handicap 14 days ago.

Rab Havlin had the luxury of easing him down so a 7lb rise in the weights should not put the brakes on.

He has shown his best on quick ground which is the only question mark.

He’s A Latchico followed two hurdles wins with a smooth success back on the Flat at Sandown last month.

He was well on top over trip this trip but will have to pull out more after a 9lb hike.

Omniscient tanked along for most of the Northumberland Plate before his stamina ran out over the two-mile trip.

Sir Mark Prescott knows what he’s doing with stayers and he’s likely to run well over this shorter distance.

HMS President has winning form here and went down in a tight finish for the Duke Of Edinburgh Stakes at Royal Ascot.

He scored on his last crack at this trip at Newmarket and Alan King’s hope will be happier upped in distance.

Frankie rides Adjuvant who had no luck in the Plate last time.

He has a good record over this trip and goes on any ground. He has a chance from 5lb higher than his latest success.

Post Impressionist was rusty coming back from nine months off in the Plate.

He showed his quality when winning at York in October and will show his true self today.

3.00

LUISA CASATI was impressive when winning a Listed contest over course and distance two starts ago ahead of Time Lock.

She relished the cut in the ground and should have similar conditions here.

Everything went wrong at Haydock last time when the blindfold came off late meaning she badly missed the kick. She can bounce back.

Free Wind put in a rare poor run when fifth in the Hardwicke at Royal Ascot.

Frankie Dettori was at a loss to explain it as she’d been in excellent form when scoring at York on comeback from almost a year off in May.

She should be her old self now and will be a lot closer.

River Of Stars was a good York winner in May and matched that form when a close second at Longchamp last time. A repeat of that gives her a big say.

Time Lock will appreciate slightly slower conditions after a fair run in the Lancashire Oaks and she was just a length behind the tip at Goodwood when they met in May.

Peripatetic won here in June and is another who found the Lancashire Oaks too much last time.

Returning to this track should help but the trip is an unknown.

3.35

ORAZIO comes from Charles Hills who has won this race twice with well-backed runners in recent seasons.

If the wet forecast is right, mudlark Aleezdancer has a big each-way chance.

He was a good winner off a 3lb higher mark in testing ground at Donny and hasn’t had those conditions since.

Mums Tipple is capable of making his mark with Frankie on board.

He was a good fourth in the Wokingham and has won off a higher mark.

Apollo One was ahead of him at Royal Ascot and is only 3lb higher today.

A big field and soft ground bring out the best in him.

Juan Les Pins has come through the handicap ranks and is another who went close in the Wokingham.

He is creeping up the weights but is in fine form and should be in the mix again.

Aberama Gold came right back to form when winning at York latest.

He handles any ground and a repeat of that Knavesmire effort can see him in the frame.

Chairmanoftheboard looks a fair price who has winning course form and will enjoy any juice underfoot.

It would be no shock to see old boy Mr Wagyu run well. He has won here before and is sliding down the weights thanks to some modest efforts.

He could bounce back and nick a place.

4.10

CHARTWELL HOUSE is consistent over this trip and was an impressive winner at Haydock two runs ago.

He was hiked up the weights for that but showed he could cope with his new mark when a close second at the Merseyside track last time.

He has gone well on both fast and slow ground and the excellent Neil Callan gets on board again.

Sophia’s Starlight ran a cracker over a furlong shorter here on Tuesday so she is off the same mark here.

Her saddle reportedly slipped, which won’t have helped, and she’s also effective over this longer trip.

New Business was backed before his handicap debut at Sandown last month but had to settle for a fair fourth.

She was very keen there and Ryan Moore taking over on top will do her no harm.

Urban Sprawl is 8lb higher than when winning here in May on fast ground.

He went close in the Britannia Stakes at Royal Ascot before coming back too quickly for a poor effort at Newmarket.

He’s better than that and can figure despite his higher weight.

Thunder Ball is another who went close in the Britannia after a good novice victory over this distance at Newbury.

He travelled well for a long time last time and dropping back a furlong could help.

Captain Cuddles went close over this distance at Ascot and the handicapper has left his mark alone.

He takes on stronger opposition here but is capable of better.

4.45

INDIVIDUALISM can take advantage of his experience to score for Charlie Johnston.

This son of Too Darn Hot made a good start when a close-up second at Ayr on debut.

His classy half-brother Subjectivist won over this 7f trip as a juvenile and Joe Fanning’s mount can progress from his debut.

Andrew Balding has won this for the past two years and has a couple of chances.

Both Royal Supremacy and Celtic Warrior should like this trip and a market move would be interesting.

Stratocracy has plenty of pace in his pedigree and trainer Richard Hannon has been in the winners this week.

He also runs Persica who wasn’t cheap so watch the betting for clues.

Devil’s Point was beaten just over a length on debut at Sandown and is another contender for the capable David Menuisier.

5.20

LIBERTY LANE looked well up to this level with a good fourth at Newmarket last time.

He didn’t get the clearest of runs before finishing off well. This extra furlong should bring improvement.

Benacre is interesting upped in trip. He’s not the most consistent but went close in a Listed race earlier this season and has won here.

Mostawaa is in fine form at lower levels and made it four wins in a row at Carlisle.

This trip is ideal and he can figure despite his rising mark.

One Step Beyond was good at Ascot last time. Ryan Moore takes over from a 7lb claimer and a 6lb rise seems fair.

Sceptic didn’t fire at Sandown latest but won here earlier so is a threat.
