PROTAGONIST (3.40 Newmarket, nap)

Has won two of his three starts since joining William Haggas and was impressive when scoring in a big field at Sandown last time. This trip is ideal and he’ll go close again.

TRILLIUM (2.25 Newmarket, nb)

Has improved with every run and landed the Flying Childers at Doncaster 13 days ago. She has more to offer going up in distance.

MONTASSIB (2.05 Haydock, treble)

Tried to come from a long way back when fourth at Ascot. He’ll surely be closer to the pace here and will be hard to stop.

FLYING HONOURS looked a potential superstar when winning a Salisbury Listed race by more than five lengths.

He clocked a fast time despite having the contest won a long way out and, being a son of the great Sea The Stars, it was no surprise that he saw out the mile strongly.

He looks hard to beat and can cement his place as the early favourite for next year’s Derby.

This is no penalty kick though with Aidan O’Brien sending over Greenland to size up the opposition for Epsom next year.

He has looked green on all four starts and got off the mark nicely at Roscommon last time.

This is tougher but he has lots of scope to improve.

The Foxes cost almost half a million quid and landed his first victory in a Goodwood maiden last time in July.

Andrew Balding is in great form and he’s one for the future.

Dubai Mile has won a couple of small races and was pretty convincing at Kempton last time. This is a different level though.

2.25

TRILLIUM has been brilliant over 5f on her past two runs, winning the Molecomb at Goodwood in style before lowering the colours of The Platinum Queen in the Group 2 Flying Childers at Doncaster a fortnight ago.

She shapes as though stepping up to this trip could bring improvement and she’s won on fast and slow ground.

Aidan O’Brien has taken four of the past six runnings and his Meditate went close in the Group 1 Moyglare Stud Stakes at The Curragh last time.

That was her first defeat after landing big wins there and at Royal Ascot and she looks a big threat.

Lezoo saw out this trip well when winning the Princess Margaret Stakes at Ascot latest.

She’s had a little break since then and has more to offer for in-form Ralph Beckett.

He also runs Juliet Sierra who battled to take the Dick Poole Stakes at Salisbury earlier this month.

She has lots of staying power and could run into the frame.

Swingalong stepped out of maiden company to land the Lowther at York last month. She was a 25-1 surprise but it didn’t look like a fluke and this distance is ideal.

Treasure Trove comes over from Ireland on the back of a good victory at The Curragh.

That was her first crack at this trip and she got up right on the line so it clearly suits. This is tougher but she can’t be discounted.

3.00

MISCHIEF MAGIC could not have been more impressive when landing the Group 3 Sirenia Stakes at Kempton three weeks ago.

He picked up sharply and ran past the whole field in a matter of yards.

He won nicely on turf at Newmarket before that and can take another step forward.

Blackbeard got the better of Persian Force in the Prix Morny at Deauville which backed up a Chantilly success.

He likes to go from the front and may be able to tough it out. Persian Force has yet to finish out of the first two, including twice at this level.

He is sure to give his running again and it would be no surprise to see him keep up that record.

This looks a hot race and Marshman is another who can have a major say.

He went close in the Gimcrack at York with a distance back to the third. He is likely to improve further for that experience.

The others have a fair gap to bridge on form with The Antarctic needing to improve on his third in the Morny under Tom Marquand.

Zoology scored nicely on his debut at Yarmouth but this is much tougher.

3.40

PROTAGONIST has flourished since joining William Haggas with two wins from three runs.

He had lots in hand at Sandown last time and relished the big field. He stays strongly so should finish well off this strong pace.

Haggas has another big chance with Mujtaba who quickened nicely to take a hot handicap at Doncaster.

He has just a 4lb penalty and has more to offer with few miles on the clock.

Electrical Storm ran well despite not enjoying the drop to a mile at Haydock and will be happier at this trip. He has solid place claims.

Dual Identity chased home Protagonist at Sandown and is slightly better off at the weights here. He can hit the frame again.

Savvy Victory enjoyed being held up when scoring at Goodwood and looks a major player.

HAYDOCK

2.05

MONTASSIB took his first two races of the season before a close fifth at Royal Ascot.

He has run well twice since in hot company and this looks a good chance to score again. He saw out the mile well last time.

Boardman looks a big threat after going close at Ripon latest. He has scored here before and handles any ground.

Akhu Nalja was third in a Listed contest on just his third run at Sandown latest.

This son of Kingman looks on a fair mark for handicap debut and won’t be far away for in-form Roger Varian.

Astro King was a cracking fourth in the Royal Hunt Cup before he probably didn’t like soft ground at Pontefract.

He’s back from a break in a first-time visor and has each-way claims.

Wanees didn’t stay 1m2f at Goodwood and is much happier over the mile. He looks on a fair weight if finding his form again.

2.40

ZARZYNI will relish dropping back to 5f given his strong form over the minimum.

He will find this easier than the Ayr Gold Cup last time and some juice in the ground will be fine.

Copper Knight was second in this last year and has dropped to just 2lb above his last win. It would be no surprise to see him go close.

Equality was unlucky to finish only second at Windsor last time over this trip.

He has run well in good company this season and won’t be far away.

The Thin Blue Line went close in the Ayr Bronze Cup and the handicapper has been fair with a 1lb rise. He could hit the frame.

Isle Of Lismore should like the ground and was convincing when scoring at Newmarket latest. A repeat of that form would take him very close.

CURRAGH

1.35

Aidan O’Brien has won the past 11 runnings and his ADELAIDE RIVER went close in good company in France last time.

That was just his second run after winning a Dundalk maiden and there’s more to come.

Stablemate Continuous looks the main danger after a smooth debut success here last month. This is much tougher but he’s clearly classy.

Pivotal Trigger chased home the tip at Longchamp and can fill third spot again for Jessica Harrington.

3.20

HELLSING was impressive when taking a Tipperary Listed race last time.

He saw out this trip well and handles the track as he showed when scoring here on debut.

Hiawatha went from the front when scoring over a mile here last month and looks a big danger for Ballydoyle.

Oviedo was unlucky when third in the Acomb at York. He got no luck up the rail when full of running and deserves a crack this big prize.

Waahaj won two minor races before going close in the Solario at Kempton. A repeat would give him a chance.
