BAYSIDE BOY (1.45 Haydock, nb)
He hated Goodwood last time and took too long to get going. He finished well in fourth on the back of a close-up effort in the St James’s Palace at Royal Ascot.
Something like that form would give him a major say.
ARATUS (3.10 Ascot, treble)
He was first home in his group behind Fresh in the International Stakes here last time and can turn that form around.
This trip in a big field is ideal and trainer Clive Cox is in decent form. He’s back off his last winning handicap mark too.

HAYDOCK
1.15
NAVAL POWER has made smooth progress so far and landed the hat-trick in an Ascot Listed contest by more than six lengths last time.
He should be suited by this extra furlong and looks hard to beat.
Seeking Gold looks best of the rest after an easy success at Yarmouth 24 days ago. This is a fair hike in grade but he can take it in his stride and fill the forecast spot.
Lion Of War was backed for a Newmarket Group 3 latest but failed to deliver. He landed two easy maiden wins before that and can show his true form here.
1.45
BAYSIDE BOY hated Goodwood last time and took too long to get going. He finished well in fourth on the back of a close-up effort in the St James’s Palace at Royal Ascot.
Something like that form would give him a major say.
Reach For The Moon didn’t stay 1m2f in the Hampton Court after a good run over this trip at Sandown. The first-time visor could bring a little improvement for Frankie’s hope.
Brunch is an honest performer over this trip. He went close in a big York handicap and is better than we saw there last time. He could nick a place.
2.20
SPEYCASTER looked a decent staying prospect when trying a trip for the first time here latest. He finished off strongly over this trip and Hollie Doyle takes over for in-form Ralph Beckett.
Thundering was a close second at York despite traffic problems and a 2lb rise in the weights is more than fair.
Tamilla had a bit up her sleeve whe scoring at Kempton and this longer distance should suit the William Haggas hope.
2.55
AMTIYAZ is interesting on his second run of the season.
He was a Royal Ascot handicap winner last term and looked very rusty at York 15 days ago. He is on a fair weight and stays well.
Soulcombe was an easy Melrose winner at York and even a hefty 14lb rise may not be enough to stop this young stayer.
Evaluation ran a cracker when second at Sandown and is proven over this trip.
3.30
MINZAAL was impressive when taking a Sandown Group 3 before a fast-finishing second in this grade at Deauville last month.
This trip is ideal and he has more to offer for under-rated trainer Owen Burrows.
Kinross has been flying over 7f with a good win at York but he has enough pace for this trip too and looks a threat.
Naval Crown won the Platinum Jubilee at Royal Ascot and has run well twice since, including when behind the tip in France. He has an each-way shout.
Brad The Brief battled well to score at The Curragh latest having scored here. This is a bit tougher but he can’t be ignored.
Last year’s winner Emaraaty Ana ran a belter in the Nunthorpe at York and can run well again.
KEMPTON
2.05
MOSTAHDAF can keep up Team Gosden’s good run in this contest.
They have won it four times since 2015 and this son of Frankel was a good second in the Hardwicke Stakes at Royal Ascot over this trip after winning six of his first seven runs.
He was turned out too quickly at Newmarket but has had a break since. He won a decent contest here as a youngster.
Dubai Honour comes down in class from Group 1 level and is a threat although he has similar chances to this before and fluffed them.
Solid Stone won well at Chester over 1m2f before a modest Hardwicke run. He’s better than that and Sir Michael Stoute is in decent form.
2.40
MY MATE TED took a big step forward when winning on his all-weather debut here last time. This is tougher but that was just his fifth run and there’s more to come with a 4lb rise fair.
Morgan Fairy didn’t get the run of the race despite a small field at Lingfield 14 days ago. She has gone well here a couple of times and looks solid for William Haggas.
Dutch Decoy has been consistent and followed a Newmarket victory with a solid third at Ripon. He has winning form around here and will be right in the mix again.
ASCOT
3.10
ARATUS was first home in his group behind Fresh in the International Stakes here last time and can turn that form around.
This trip in a big field is ideal and trainer Clive Cox is in decent form. He’s back off his last winning handicap mark too.
A 4lb rise for Fresh gives him a solid chance again and we know he likes this course and distance.
Inver Park landed the Buckingham Palace Stakes at the Royal meeting before getting no luck dropped to 6f for the Stewards’ Cup at Goodwood. He’s a big threat under Saffie Osborne.
3.45
FIRST RULER caught the eye when winning over a mile at Donny and enjoyed stepping up to 1m2f when scoring here last time out in July.
He shapes as though this longer trip will be ideal and there’s a lot more to come from just 3lb higher.
Frantastic is going the right way and showed good heart to score by a neck at Newbury 15 days ago. This is tougher but this Frankel colt has more to offer.
Al Nafir ran well in the Melrose at York when the 1m5f stretched his stamina. This distance will be more to his liking with few miles on the clock.
