How Erling Haaland's hat-tricks are costing him money off the pitch with Man City star employing man for help | The Sun

ERLING HAALAND has revealed how his incredible collection of hat-trick matchballs is costing him a fortune.

The 23-year-old Norwegian moved to Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund for £51m in 2022.

And they got an instant return on that investment as his 52 goals fired Pep Guardiola’s team to an historic Treble last season.

Incredibly, Haaland grabbed SIX hat-tricks during that campaign, and he already has another this term which came in the 5-1 win over Fulham last month.

That has taken his tally of trebles throughout his career with Molde, Red Bull Salzburg, Dortmund, City and his country to a whopping 19.

It appears that the treasured memento that comes with those exploits still remains as magical to the superstar as ever.

And he has a deal in place to make sure that each one of his vast collection is proudly on display.

Speaking to The Telegraph about whether he keeps the balls, Haaland said: “Yeah, I have them in Norway, England and Spain.

“I have a nice system with a guy who makes glass stands and I can sit them on.

“I have every single ball because I write on them with the date and everything so I can remember.”

Meanwhile, City reportedly hope to “open contract talks” with Haaland in order to secure his long-term future.

A fresh report claims that Champions League holders City have “an appetite to lengthen that by at least another season”.

Talks on increasing his current £400,000-a-week wages will be a “major blow” to Real Madrid.

Los Blancos have a “desire” to bring Haaland to LaLiga and still have a “firm interest” in luring Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe to the Bernabeu after missing out on both over the past 18 months.

Now the Cityzens are “wanting to reward those exploits” with his manager “believing he can still improve”.

The fresh update says that a “potential release clause” will be one of the main talking points in the new package.
