INTER MILAN are "expected to contact Chelsea again next week" regarding a new deal for Romelu Lukaku – but the Blues are not expected to like their latest proposal.
The striker, 30, is currently set to return to Stamford Bridge for pre-season following his season-long loan at the San Siro.
However, he will be given two options – stay for the 2023-24 campaign or leave on a permanent transfer.
SunSport understand Chelsea have no interest in sending him out on loan again.
However, Inter are believed to have accepted an offer from Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr for Marcelo Brozovic believed to be around £15.5m.
And they plan to use the cash from the sale of the Croatian midfielder towards trying to strike an agreement for Lukaku – although their preferred option is still not what the Premier League side are looking for.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano tweeted an update on the situation which read: "Inter are expected to contact Chelsea again next week in order to advance on Romelu Lukaku deal.
"New round of talks could take place after signing Brozovic deal."
But he added: "New approach expected to be for loan move with buy clause and potential payment in installments."
Lukaku joined Chelsea in a £97.5million transfer from Inter Milan in 2021, but he quickly fell out of favour with both fans and club officials.
