JOHN DALY showed he can still mix it with the big hitters – by driving an epic golf shot OVER a busy Ohio interstate.
The two-time Major champion, 56, is all set to compete at this week's Open Championship in St Andrews, Scotland.
Daly won the competition way back in 1995 and was renowned for his ability to drive consistently beyond 300 yards.
Despite his advancing years – and bizarre on-course diet – the Californian showed that he still has the distance by clubbing a drive into a local High School football field.
Chain-smoking Daly, who is also partial to a few beers and Hooters chicken, teed up his drive alongside the busy Interstate 76 in Akron.
Starting around fifty feet back, he takes aim over the freeway and crashes a beautiful sounding drive right out of the screws.
The golf legend's shot sails over eight lanes of oblivious traffic, landing neatly in the grounds of Archbishop Hoban High School.
Decked out in sunglasses, a baggy green t-shirt and red cargo shorts, Daly immediately turns to the watching crowd for their reaction.
A woman is heard to say: "Touche!".
And the PGA Tour star didn't even feel the need to put his shoes on.
Golf fans took to social media to praise Daly's epic drive, with one Akron local saying he had been "dreaming" of the shot since he was at school.
Matt Considine wrote: "Proudly, I went to this school and day dreamed about this shot pretty much everyday out of a third story window.
"He's got way too much club, no more than a 9 iron to the first goal post and 3 iron to the second.
'NO MULLIGAN IF THE BALL GOES ASTRAY'
"All down hill with a crosswind that tends to help a draw #golfnerd."
But Daly's stunt didn't go down quite as well with local officials.
Ohio Department of Transportation spokesman Matt Bruning told USA TODAY: "Driving on the interstate should be limited to vehicles.
"Unfortunately there’s no mulligan if a ball goes astray and hits a moving vehicle at full speed."
And one fan asked on social media: "Isn't this illegal?!"

Daly captured the imagination of the golfing public during the USPGA, where he stormed into an early lead.
Puffing away on a cigarette during his warm-up, the former Major champ looked the business in relaxed-fit floral slacks, which bizarrely featured a number of SKULLS.
And the fearless star insisted "I'm not scared to die" after revealing he has bladder cancer in 2020.

Her accompanying caption read: "I told @pga_johndaly he was a badass… he said I was too."
Daly will be appearing at this year's Open Championship in St Andrews, which begins on July 14.
