KASPER SCHMEICHEL is reportedly set to join Anderlecht on a free transfer.
The veteran goalkeeper was released by Nice last week after just one year at the Ligue Un club.
But he is closing in on a quick return to football after agreeing terms with Belgian side Anderlecht, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Schmeichel, 36, is understood to have penned a one-year deal, which will be confirmed in the next 24 hours.
The shot-stopper had been linked to Celtic in a shock move that would have seen him reunite with his former Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers.
Chelsea were also linked with a move for the Premier League winner last month.
