Leeds fan trolls flop with brutal sign caught on TV at World Matchplay Darts

A Leeds United fan was spotted brutally criticising flop signing Weston McKennie at the World Matchplay Darts.

Juventus and United States midfielder McKennie had a disastrous second half of the season on loan at Elland Road as Leeds slumped to relegation from the Premier League.

They won just three games when he started in the middle of the park across his 20 appearances in all competitions, and he was repeatedly accused of being overweight.

Supporters even chanted "you fat b******" at the 24-year-old as he exited the pitch during their final day 4-1 defeat to Tottenham, after which he jumped straight on a train to leave the city.

While nearly two months have passed since then, one Leeds fan and darts goer couldn't resist making another dig at McKennie at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool on Monday (July 17) night.

As Andrew Gilding made his walk-on ahead of facing Peter Wright, they placed their sign out in front of him which was picked up on the Sky Sports camera.

"Weston McKennie loves a takeaway," it read, along with "MOT" on the side. One viewer caught it and posted it on social media with the caption: "Get where water can’t Leeds fans."

It was lapped up by fellow Leeds fans online, with one hailing "what a fanbase", a second replying "hahahaha 10/10" and a third declaring "tweet of the day".

McKennie is expected to leave Juve this summer and has been linked with Borussia Dortmund. His time at Leeds went so badly that his dad John hit out at the fanbase after his exit.

He tweeted: "All the best to LUFC! For those who supported Weston in a hostile environment, you have my respect! For those who failed to remember it’s a team sport, you live to fight another day!"
