Leeds star Wilfried Gnonto lined up for immediate Premier League transfer return with relegation rivals | The Sun

LEEDS UNITED star Wilfried Gnonto is being lined up for an immediate Premier League return.

The Italian forward is being targeted by one of Leeds' relegation rivals from last season.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Everton are keen on signing Gnonto this summer.

The Toffees narrowly avoided relegation to the Championship at Leeds' expense last term.

Their final day victory over Bournemouth confined Leeds, who were beaten by Tottenham Hotspur, to the drop.

Everton are now interested in taking one of their former relegation rivals' best players.

Gnonto scored four goals and provided four assists for Leeds after signing from FC Zurich last summer.

His form for the relegated Whites during his first season in England has seen him attract interest from several clubs, including Arsenal.

However, any move will likely have to wait, with Gnonto currently on international duty with Italy Under-21s.

He came on as a second half sub in his country's opening match of the European Championships on Thursday, a 2-1 loss to France.

Gnonto is not the only Leeds player who could make an immediate top flight return, either.

Full-back Rasmus Kristensen is closing in on a move to Serie A side Roma.

He is said to be in advanced talks with the Italian giants, who are pushing for an agreement with Leeds.

Meanwhile, Aston Villa are reportedly eyeing a move for midfielder Tyler Adams.
