Lille banish striker Mohamed Bayo to reserves and fine him £65k after he went clubbing night before 7-1 thrashing by PSG | The Sun

LILLE summer signing Mohamed Bayo has been banished from their first-team squad due to disciplinary reasons.

The 24-year-old played no part in Sunday's 7-1 defeat against Paris Saint-Germain at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy after a picture of him clubbing the night before emerged.

After learning about his antics, L'Equipe claimed that the club decided to drop him having been left furious by the striker.

And now it has been reported by AFP, via The42, that Lille have slapped him with a £65,000 fine.

To make matters worse for the Guinea international, he will now be forced to train with Lille's second team.

Their reserve team compete in the fifth-tier in France.

Lille president Olivier Letang failed to hide his anger at Bayo after his side were humiliated by Les Parisiens in front of their own fans.

Letang told Amazon Prime : "It is a lack of respect for the club.

"A lack of respect for the coaching staff and also our supporters.

"We were, along with the coach, very annoyed, even furious, about this behaviour that for us is not tolerable."

Bayo arrived at Lille earlier this summer from Clermont in a £10million deal.

He started in Lille's opening two top-flight fixtures against Auxerre and Nantes.

But he failed to chip in with a goal contribution in either match.

It now remains to be seen when the centre-forward will be reintroduced back into Paulo Fonseca's side.

Next up for Lille is a trip to AC Ajaccio, who currently sit in the bottom three in Ligue 1.
