LIONEL MESSI is embarking on a new career by joining forces with former team-mate Sergio Aguero as an owner of KRU Esports.
The announcement has even has pushed the owner of rival Esports team Rebels Gaming, David de Gea, to invite Cristiano Ronaldo to partner up with his brand.
Argentine pals Messi and Aguero have teamed up again but this time it's not on the pitch and instead in Esports.
Founded by Aguero in 2020, KRU competes with various Esport titles such as Rocket League, FIFA, League of Legends and Valorant.
The company has since innovated its way to the top of the field.
And the Manchester City legend confirmed on Tuesday in a short video that Messi is the organisation's new partner.

The clip ends with the Inter Miami icon saying "Okay, let's play."
In response to the GOAT's arrival, Aguero had some heartfelt words to say about his pal.
Aguero said: "I am happy to share a club with Leo, of course now in a new stage and with other challenges.
"It is an honour that he is part of KRU. He is the best footballer in history, and also a great friend."

The Argentine duo spent the best part of 15 years together on the national team.
Together they helped Argentina secure the Copa America in 2021 and reached the World Cup final in 2014.
But Aguero was forced to retire a year before their country's World Cup 2022 triumph due to his heart condition.
Meanwhile, shortly after Messi's new Esports venture was announced De Gea asked the Argentine's long-term rival Ronaldo to invest in his Rebels Gaming.
The Al-Nassar icon had a fierce rivalry with Messi during the peak of their careers at Real Madrid and Barcelona splitting multiple Ballon d'Or's between them.
Fans now await for the Portuguese superstar to respond to the ex-Man Utd keeper invite.
