Lioness legend Jill Scott says winning Euro final would be 'defining moment' for women's game | The Sun

LIONESS legend Jill Scott believes winning Sunday’s Euro final would be a “defining moment” for the women’s game.

The England star says the tournament has already been a “game changer” for the sport.

But she admitted dreaming about what it would mean to beat Germany at Wembley 50 times a day.

She said yesterday: “It’s going to be such a difficult game. We know Germany are always such a tough opposition and we will give them the utmost respect.

“But as I said before you can’t help but dare to dream a little bit.”
Scott, 35, is “very confident” about the Lionesses chances as they’ve prepared for all eventualities – including dreaded penalties.

The midfielder hopes the women can go one step further than the men to inspire an already proud nation.

She added: “We wanted to get the sport the respect that it deserves. And if you ask me, I think we’ve ticked all the boxes.

“So I think now we’ve earned the right for the team to go out there on Sunday and enjoy it.”
