Man Utd and Newcastle join Chelsea and Liverpool in race for ‘Gambian Hurricane’ who lit up U20 World Cup | The Sun

MANCHESTER UNITED and Newcastle have entered the race to sign teenage striker Adama Bojang, according to reports.

The forward, dubbed the "Gambian Hurricane" by fans, has already attracted plenty of interest from Premier League sides, as well as clubs abroad.

Bojang, 19, impressed at the Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations earlier this year, before turning in similarly eye-catching displays at the Under-20 World Cup.

According to The Guardian, Man United and Newcastle are just the latest Prem sides to take a keen interest in Bojang.

The duo join Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham, Crystal Palace and Wolves in the queue for Bojang's signature.

While German sides RB Leipzig and Eintracht Frankfurt are also eager to recruit the Gambian ace, who plays for Steve Biko FC in his homeland.

Bojang is said to have already received an offer from the Bundesliga, and is claimed to be keen on a move to Germany.

But the allure of the Prem could prove to be too strong, should a formal offer arrive.

The 6ft 3in ace is said to be available for just £2.6million this summer.

European sides Marseille, Ajax and Royal Antwerp are also believed to be long-term admirers.

Speaking on a potential transfer earlier this year, Bojang said: "I’ve heard about the news and I am excited about it.

“It boosts my morale. I’m focusing more on consistency which motivates me a lot, because seeing such clubs following you is a great feeling.

"Through consistency it will make them hungrier for me.
