MANCHESTER UNITED have been joined by West Ham in the race to sign Leon Goretzka, with Bayern Munich keen to offload him in a £43million deal.
Erik ten Hag is itching to add to the signing of Mason Mount to boost his midfield ranks – a problem area for the Red Devils last season.
And they have been given a boost with Thomas Tuchel desperate to offload the Germany star… for the right price.
That's according to Sky Sports in Germany, who say the ex-Chelsea boss will happily sell for around £43m.
However, United will face a fight for Goretzka, with former boss David Moyes circling.
The West Ham manager has money to burn after star man Declan Rice joined Arsenal in a British record £105m deal.

And the Hammers may even have the edge in terms of cash to splash, with United already shelling out £55m to land Rice's boyhood pal and England team-mate Mount.
Goalkeeper Andre Onana is set to complete his £47m move to Old Trafford on Tuesday as well, while United are still fighting tooth and nail to land a striker.
Harry Kane, Victor Osimhen, Rasmus Hojlund and Randal Kolo Muani are all being targeted in deals which could all be worth around £100m.
However, Goretzka may be moving against his will with the Treble winner keen to stay at the Allianz Arena.

The 53-cap Germany international joined the Bundesliga champions in 2018 and has amassed 179 appearances in all competitions, winning five league titles and one Champions League gone.
However, his recent form has been patchy – in no small part down to a spate of frustrating injuries.
Tuchel has already strengthened his Bayern squad this summer with the signings of Konrad Laimer and Raphael Guerreiro, from RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund, respectively.
Marcel Sabitzer has also returned from his loan at United, while Joshua Kimmich and Ryan Gravenberch are already on the books.
With his midfield looking bloated, Tuchel is convinced life would be better without former Schalke man Goretzka.
And, despite Man Utd fans begging Ten Hag not to sign "the German Scott McTominay", the Red Devils are still hoping to land their man.
