Chiesa boost
Man Utd transfer target Federico Chiesa reportedly prefers a transfer to a European club over a move to the Saudi Pro League.
Italian publication Calciomercato says that the Juventus winger wants to leave the Serie A giants to play for a club in the Champions League.
The Turin-based club are looking for a fee in the region of £50million for their star.
The 25-year-old has already scored four goals in seven games this season, and his contract expires on 2025.

Ligue 1 star targeted
Erik ten Hag is pushing Man Utd chiefs to sign defensive cover in January.
And the Dutch tactician has taken a shine to PSG star Nordi Mukiele, according to reports.
Football Transfers claim the versatile defender is highly rated by ten Hag who joined the Ligue 1 giants from RB Leipzig last summer.
He has since struggled for game time, with the report suggesting the club might cash in on their asset.

McTominay was close to leaving
Erik ten Hag has revealed how close Man Utd were to selling Scott McTominay and he would have sold him for the right price.
“Every player has a price but he has a big value, sporting and also economic," ten Hag revealed.
"I want to have a player like Scott McTominay in the squad. He is Manchester United in every faith.
"Every minute he will fight for the match. He is Manchester United in everything in his heart. When you are coming on and giving this to the team it tells a lot."

Lindelof extension
Man Utd are planning a contract extension for Victor Lindelof, according to reports.
The Sweden international has had to fill in at centre back with injuries and loss of form robbing Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez and Harry Maguire of their starting places.
Lindelof's current deal expires in 2024.
However, United are keen to lock him down until 2025, rather than lose him for free next summer.

"Incredible" moment
Scott McTominay has revealed his double injury time strike against Brentford was his favourite moment of his career.
He said: "That might be one of my favourite moments on a football pitch. Two goals at the death was incredible, but I'm just happy to be able to contribute and show people that I can do it. Massive.
"Everyone knows we are in a difficult period at the minute, but we have fighters in the group that want to keep going right until the end."

Beckham drops hint on Utd's new owners
David Beckham has dropped a major hint over Manchester United’s potential next owners.
Speaking at the F1 Sprint Race in Qatar, the Inter Miami owner said: "We are one of the, if not the biggest club in the world. We want stability.
"We all have our favourites of who we feel needs to run the club and look after the club to take it back to where it belongs.
"In our eyes, in the fans eyes, we are number one. We want to be back at the top and I believe I know the right people to do that so we'll see!"

Ex-Utd coach's release clause
Ipswich will demand a whopping £4million in compensation for any club eyeing Kieran McKenna.
The former Manchester United coach, 37, is a rising star after leading the Tractor Boys to promotion and a great start in the Championship.
McKenna seems sure to get other offers soon but Ipswich are covering themselves in case Premier League sides come calling.
He is also on a healthy salary at Portman Road, around £25,000-a-week wage plus bonuses.
But, should a move to the top division transpire, he could be expected to earn a bigger whack – with Crystal Palace reportedly interested in replacing Roy Hodgson with McKenna.

Sancho transfer plan
Juventus plan to hand Jadon Sancho an escape route from Old Trafford – and could turn it into a permanent £60million deal next summer.
The Italians are keen to sign the dumped Manchester United winger on loan in January, before a potential full-time move at the end of the season.
They hope United will agree to paying half of Sancho’s wages if he goes, knowing the Reds are keen to put him in the shop window.
Sancho has been out in the cold since falling out with Erik ten Hag when he was left out of the squad for the trip to Arsenal at the start of September.
Manager Ten Hag insists he was dropped because of poor performances in training – yet the player claimed on social media that he was being made a scapegoat.

Ten Hag’s brutal Casemiro assessment
Erik ten Hag delivered a brutal assessment after being asked why he subbed Casemiro at half-time.
The Brazilian holding midfielder was replaced by Christian Eriksen at half-time in what was considered an attacking substitution.
When asked why Ten Hag was willing to make such an extreme change, he simply said: “I wanted more football.”
Casemiro suffered a day to forget which was his latest in a season he has increasingly struggled in.
The midfielder made a critical mistake in the build-up to Mathias Jensen’s 26th-minute opener, which should’ve been saved by Andre Onana.
That, coupled, with his lack of ferocity, prompted Ten Hag to replace the club’s September Player of the Month with Christian Eriksen at halftime.

Schmeichel criticism
Man Utd legend Peter Schmeichel claims Andre Onana has "upset the whole team" after another error against Brentford.
Schmeichel told Premier League Productions: "The goalkeeper is not covering himself in glory in that one.
"My theory here is he’s just lifting up, he’s not setting off, his arm is coming up to go down, whereas as a goalkeeper you learn to dive along around for the ball, you don’t go up to come down.
"We saw the same mistake against Bayern Munich and I notice the same thing, he just kind of lifts himself instead of actually diving and moving towards the ball.
"Don’t ask me because I’m not Onana, I don’t know. It’s a technical [issue].
"I think a lot of that is pressure, I spoke to him after Bayern, I spoke to him after the other Champions League match against Galatasaray as well, he’s very down on the mistakes he’s made.
"I’m trying to speak to him about what it’s like to be at Manchester United, what you have to take.
"Whatever you’ve made, you have to put it in a box straight away and put it to the side.
"So you make a mistake in a game, it might be a mistake we see, it might be a mistake that we don’t see, but you wait to think about it and analyse it until after the game or at night or whatever.
"You have to be there for the next moment, if you’re not you’ll make the next mistake.
"And now he’s upset the whole team. Now they will even more not trust him, and my God, it’s not good."

Man Utd eye Brazil wonderkids
Man Utd are reportedly chasing two Brazilian wonderkids.
But they could have to cough up around £100million to see off interest from Chelsea.
Fabrizio Romano claims Palmeiras midfielder Luis Guilherme and Flamengo winger Lorran have both caught Ten Hag’s eye.
The Red Devils have been scouting the pair, both 17, in recent weeks.
United have been sending staff to watch numerous players across South America, but it’s reckoned Guilherme and Lorran have impressed the most.

McTominay blasts critics
Scott McTominay has blasted Man Utd's critics – claiming everyone is against them.
The Scotland star came off the bench to score twice to rescue three points for his side.
Afterwards, he told Premier League productions: "When you are not doing well at this football club, everyone is against you.
"It feels like we are in our own bubble with the rest of the world saying negative things.”

De Gea's cryptic message
David De Gea looks to be spending time playing video games, posting a clip of himself playing popular title Rainbow Six Siege.
The veteran’s character was seen aiming at a hallway stock-still waiting for a target to appear.
But after eventually taking his eye off the ball to move to a new room, De Gea’s character was immediately shot by an opponent.
The goalkeeper captioned the video: “Perfect timing.”
And he accompanied it with two emojis giving the middle finger.

Fabulous McTominay
Erik ten Hag was full of praise for super sub Scott McTominay.
"McTominay was fabulous," the Dutch tactician said after the game.
“When you come in with the end of the game near and you bring that mindset, that energy and that confidence, he fought for every meter, for every ball, and he was rewarded”.

Centre back eyed
Utd are eyeing up a centre back in January, according to Football Insider.
However, they will have to shift either Harry Maguire or Scott McTominay.
The cash-strapped Red Devils need to sell players before they can buy.

Ten Hag explains Varane absence
Erik ten Hag has explained why Raphael Varane hasn’t made the matchday squad for Man United’s clash with Brentford today.
The Frenchman was nowhere to be seen when the lineups were announced and it left the Red Devils with a centre-back partnership of Harry Maguire and Jonny Evans.
Speaking to Sky Sports ahead of kick off, ten Hag said: “He couldn’t make the game, he had a minor issue, If it was two or three days longer [between matches], he could have made it but now it was too short.”

Brentford have taken the lead at Old Trafford!! It’s more woes for Erik ten Hag and his side as they go 1-0 down to the Bees at home.
Mathias Jensen sticks the ball to the side of Andre Onana and there could be a few more questions asked of the keeper who perhaps could have done better.
