Man Utd star Marcus Rashford is 'the best player in the world right now' claims Sky pundit | The Sun

MARCUS RASHFORD is “arguably” the best player in the world right now ahead of the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi, says a Scottish striking legend.

The 25-year-old Manchester United star has been the scourge of defenders across Europe with his exploits for United both domestically and in the Europa League.

He had a shot deflected into the Newcastle net as United claimed the Carabao Cup at Wembley on Sunday.

Despite initially going down as an own goal, he has now officially been credited with it.

Rashford then came off the bench to help United down West Ham after coming from behind in the FA Cup to reach the quarter-finals, although he did not manage to score on Wednesday.

His record since returning from England duty at the World Cup has outshone PSG icons such as Mbappe and Messi with no-one else scoring as many as the hitman.

He has bagged 17 goals since December, taking his total to a career-best 25 for the campaign.

And ahead of Sunday’s crunch clash at Anfield against Liverpool in the Premier League, Jurgen Klopp’s side have been warned that they are facing one of, if not THE, most in-form player on the planet by ex-Rangers striker and Sky Sports pundit Kris Boyd.

He said: “You could see there were talented footballers at the club that is wasn't going to happen for them and I think Marcus Rashford was potentially going to fall into that trap.

“But I tell you what, he's arguably the best player in the world at this moment in time. He's been unstoppable.”
